Removing Intentional Spray Paint Damage?

Greetings all,

I have a coworker who had the misfortune of a vandal spraying a "custom pinstripe" across the whole length of his BMW. It's a pretty thick stripe and there are also drips down the height of the car's side panels from it.

Does anyone have much experience removing damage like this?

Thanks a lot.

BTW hi again.:wavey

Since the paint is newly applied, I don't see why DACP or Medallion PPC wouldn't take it off. Especially if he has a good coat of wax or sealant on his paint.

I don't really think a polish would help too much to remove heavy spray paint. I would try clay as a natural course of action but even that would get gunked up very quickly if it works at all in the heavy areas.

Any chemical solutions?

I'd try something like PPG's DX330 or 3M's PrepSol. Either should be good at removing the spray paint.

Then, you can use the leftover solvents for when you find the vandal - peel off his finger and toe nails, then treat him to a "solvent spa".

....i know, i know....

Justin,

Ali has the right idea, Mineral Spirits will do the trick for ya. It will however remove any wax or sealant, so that will need to be reapplied.

Good Luck!
