Removing dirt from poor quality carpets

Any tricks to removing dirt from ultra short-pile VW products? The carpet acts like a sponge and absorbs the dirt deep down into the fibers, making it nearly impossible to remove even after a lot of wire brush action. I've seen the same horrible carpet used in other vehicles, such as the current body Volvo S40, Honda CRV, Toyota Corolla, Ford Escape, Subaru Forester, and other vehicles. VW uses it in almost all of their vehicles, and has for some time. It takes too long to clean and still looks terrible when complete. The piles are so short that you can't even make patterns when extracting and dirt just keeps coming up from the pad below.

I have the same trouble with my Ford Escape, dirt just keeps coming up. Look forward to the responses on this one.

I've even taken the carpets completely out and blasted them with a pressure washer and the sand still remained... Just about the only thing you can do with those types of carpets is do a thorough pre-brushing, sort of pre-sweeping if you will, and lots of sucking... patience and perseverance my friend.

A little time consuming but highly effective on cheap nappy carpet is an air compressor with air gun (90-120 psi works great) and a shop vac. get right down in there and blow it out into the waiting shop vac. a stiff bristle brush will help great with super stuck in dirt as well. If that dosen't do the trick I do have a few other options I can offer up.. A little more drastic but effective nonetheless
