I'm getting an '03 Porsche Turbo in January and am debating whether to remove the cosmolene undercoating Porsche uses on the bottom of it's engines to protect them from rusting on the boat trip over from Germany. Have others removed this stuff? Is it difficult to do? I bought some Eimann Fabric Engine Degreaser to use for this which I read somewhere will work to gently remove cosmolene without being caustic.
My current plan is to wash the car myself at the dealership once it comes in with P21S, inspect the paint/body carefully for delivery inspection. Drive home, use P21S GEPC, dawn wash, 2-3 coats of Z2 w/ ZFX.
Wondering if I should bother with the cosmolene removal once I get it home?
