Removing Bubble Gum from Paint?

Hi,

I don't know how it happened, ....I thought when I first saw it that my car had been keyed (new car, almost flipped out) but it turns out to be bubble gum on my car. From the front panel to the rear.

It's not coming off easily with Perls car wash, and seems to be leaving residue behind even in the spots I've worked on.

So how do I remove this crap? Would insect and tar remover be good for it? Something else? I just at this point don't want to make things worse....any help would be appreciated!

Thanks for the replies!

Will running ice cubes over it work, or just use ice water and a microfiber towel? It's too thin I think to peel it off, but too long for me to want to chip it off with my fingernail.
