Removing adhesive backed trim?

I just purchased a Jeep Wrangler that has two pieces of aftermarket flat, stainless steel sheet metal trim stuck on the paint below both doors with some kind of adhesive. They are about 4 ft. long X 5 inches wide. I want to remove these. Does anyone have any advice on how to pull these off and remove the adhesive without damage to the paint. Thanks.

Strong fishing line, leather gloves and a solvent for the glue.

Or heat gun to soften the bond and solvent for glue.

Or if the steel wasn't applied to a clean surface it might pull off.

3m adhesive remover and heat gun or 3m eraser wheel.

This is your best bet. Heat it up, pull it off, remove any of the thicker adhesive with the 3m eraser wheel, and finish it up with 3m general purpose adhesive cleaner.
