Relocating my business to another state?

My wife and I are tired of New Jersey and are seriously considering Florida as a new home. I do a lot of mail order light modification and a little detailing as of late, and only run it part time. I have been holding back on aggressively marketing my detailing because I do not want to build a customer base to leave it behind. If we move, the goal is to jump in head first and hope to make the business the primary means of income. Has anyone made a bold move like this with their business? What kind of prep did you do? Any preliminary marketing?

On a more specific note...are there any specific areas in Florida that are more receptive to vehicle recon and customization? I'm trying to make the best decision for business and family.

Loads of $ in Miami and west palm. In between is Fort Lauderdale and Boca RATON. You can love in Fort Lauderdale area and service the rest of the other areas. Unless you won powerball then live where you want.

interesting topic, i can move to boynton beach florida tomorrow & start all over if i want. i have declined that offer since the day my parents house on the lake was built. make the decision with your wife bc if shes not happy, then you wont be happy. good luck!

move to an area where you dont have alot of competition! just do a quick craigslist search under automotive services in the area you want to move to!..
