Refrigerate Wax....Whats the Point

So, we all know that black paint is the toughest to keep looking good. My theory is that more people on this forum will have black cars than any other color. They probably came here looking for some help. I suppose second would be red. Let's see if that's true. What color is your #1 car (not the beater your wife drives)?

My car is white. I love white now. When I buy my truck I plan on getting a white one. Could there be a better looking truck than a white Ford Lightning? I think not. :) White is a lot eaiser to take care of than I thought. The stuff that makes a dark car look bad doesn't show up on a white car as eaisly but the things that don't show up as bad on a dark car, like bugs, looks absolutly terrible on a white car. I guess there are positives and negatives for both colors.

My car is dark highland green. It's a dark metallic green.I had a chance to get a black car. But i thought i would have spent more time cleaning it.

I've owned 'em all - and I have to agree with JB - white's the best for me.

Reason? Well - first a white car will stay better looking a LOT longer - lower maintenance than a dark car. When they're both new and clean, black will outreflect, but white will stick right up there in the shine department.

I like white because I need cars that will withstand urban punishment - courtesy of NYC. People here, pardon my french - are jackasses. They key, scratch, and bump any car they can when they get the chance. On a white car, these blemishes look a lot less worse - on a black car, you might as well hang a sign that says 'MY CAR'S BEEN DAMAGED'.

British Grace Green:

dark green metalic that is.

Perfectly cleen and in sunlight it's allmost black.

edit: replace cleen by clean:o

C'mon fellow black car owners, time to come out of the woodwork ;). I love black cars, even when dirty they can still be beautiful! Uh-oh, I still have to wash my car since it's showing the layer of dust from a few days ago... :p

I washed and detailed my car yesterday. This morning I got a surprise phone call from the dealer that they had received some parts so I should bring it in for some minor tweaking. I was half asleep when I dropped it off and forgot to tell them not to wash it. I got it back with towel debris and smudges all over it, now I'll have to wash it again. Gotta love that black!

Black is by far my favorite color but I've seen some really nice pics of red cars here on this forum.

White and silver are by far the easiest to detail though. With white, you can immediately see if there are any embedded contaminants in your paint. And with both white and silver, you can neglect QDing your car for a whole week without losing the 'just-detailed' look.

Can I only vote once? :D

I voted silver. Of course the other colors are Red, Cream and, again, Silver.

One good thing about a black car is that it's easy to touch up the nicks a scratches. Color matching can be difficult with other colors, even white. There are a lot of shades of white, but black is black.

White Tacoma Kcab 4wd, 2001 white accord ex 4 door, I got white cause I hardly have time to do my own, and white "looks" alot cleaner when it is dirty. My favorite color is red though, not burgandy, Red!

My Grand prix GTP - BlackSapphire metallic

Expected to arrive anyday now.

Cavalier - Black:bounce

Grand Am GT1 - Silver

Minivan - DarkGreen metallic

Everest Green (MB's latest metallic dark green). I just love how the deep green on the outside looks with the Java leather on the inside. Yum! :D

I would have voted for other, because of my yellow mustang or burgundy F150, but I couldn't leave puterbum hangin'.:p

So, I voted for my black T-Bird.

my favorite color is blue, that "BMW Blue" is amazing, the new passat's have a sweet navy too, with the chrome trim, makes it look, ooohh!

but my car is "Satin Silver" kinda wish it were metalic silver but it's cool and a lot easier to keep clean especially since silver and white sorta match road salt, which in the winter if you don't wash your car every day it will look bad (cofirmed by my coworkers black car).

One thing about silver there aren't a lot of reflections perpendicular to the paint finish, have to look at smaller angles to get reflection. Black is like a mirror, while silver is like the other side of the mirror ;) well almost
