i leave all my waxes in my house. not in a fridge. never had a problem.

I am not 100% sure but I believe that it is for 2 reasons:

1. To keep the wax in a harder consistancy. This way when you wipe the applicator over the top you only get a little bit. Some waxes are softer than others and this firms them up. By firming them up you get a thinner layer that reduces waste and elbow grease in removing alot of excess.

2. If a Pot of wax were to melt totally and re-harden, the heavier solids could fall to the bottom and then you have a very inconsistant product.

I would like to have someone who knows for sure confirm my response.

I read something on this on another board and don't remember who said it so I don't feel confortable stating it like I know I am correct for sure.

I know a guy in Southern California who keeps his Z**** in a cooler..., then rubs it in his hands to warm it up before application go figure.

The point is to keep the wax "good" longer. Cooler temps mean the solvents suspending the wax evaporate slower, keeping the wax "new" longer.
We keep our Vintage, Royale, Atlantique, Supernatural, Souveran, and Fuzion in a mini fridge that we also store some drinks in. If we're going to use one, we take it out the day before the work starts.

Fwiw. Zymol doesn't refrigerate their waxes in their warehouse. At least this is what I was told by one of their "employees" before I bought some of their waxes last year.

Also, Swissvax VP of sales, told me don't bother putting their waxes in the fridge.

You can if you want, but I never have. I keep all of mine in the house in several large cabinets at basically 68-70 degrees year round.

Todd (th0001) had some good thoughts on this topic as well a while back. I believe he said it was basically marketing. He went on to say something about marketing to make the product seem more special than what it really is.

It's up to you though.

If that was the case then it would happen with all paste waxes when they pour it in the tub when making it.
