Refreshing a Lancer

Is it metallic paint ? metallics get clearcoat and solid colors are single stage on Mitsus !

Thanks edlancer!! Now i understand :idea The black is metallic, and the red, being solid colour is single stage.

A dumb qn: will single stage paints have less thickness than clear coated ones to work with? I press the PC very hard when I have a defect to remove and moderately hard with swirls. when i worked on the red colt, my pads were stained bad and i got worried that i might take out more than i bargained for

The overall thickness of single stage paint is as thick as the total clearocat and basecoat type applications. The only problem people have noticed on the single stage paints on Mitsus are they are very hard and prone to blistering when impacted by stone chips. Clearcoat tend to fair better with stone chips, but tend to magnify swirls or scratches.
