Red Vette....Black Rims

I posted here a while ago when my dad bought a 1999hardtop Corvette.....well I finally got around to detailing it last week...so this saturday we did a little photoshoot with both cars...

Here's what i did....



Wash

Clay

Rotary with Meguiar's Cutting pad 1400rpm and Meguiar's Diamond Cut on the bad panels

PC with Meguiar's Cutting pad and DC on whole car

PC with Lake Country white pad and VM

Poorboys Ex-P by hand topped with Meguiar's GoldClass
 
Very nice. I am not a fan of black wheels on sports car UNLESS they have a polished lip.



None the less still a beautiful car and a great detail.
 
That is a VERY rare Vette your Pops has there!! :bow Only made in '99 in limited numbers. Personally...I think the bright red with the solid black rims is a GORGEOUS combo!!

I agree on the polished lip comment. But the car looks great!
 
I see Zo6 body, but I don't see Zo6 body trim :nixweiss



Nice cars. I love black wheels on sports cars when it fits. This seems to fit nicely.
 
Mongoose: in '99 and '00 they made a limited number of FRC (fixed roof coupe) cars that were essencially the club racer special or maybe what you'd call a Z06 before it's time. While they did not have any different HP numbers from the standard vette you could only get them in a 6 speed and with the Z51 sport suspension and they're obviously lighter becuase of the weight loss from the rear glass. I'm not sure how much more was different but when I was thinking of a vette a couple of months back these were the cars that I was after.

That's because it's not a Z06... it's a C5 FRC as opposed to a C5 Targa (FRC meaning Fixed Roof Coupe). Like WS6 mentioned, they are VERY rare.



However, I gotta say, I like the blue one better personally ;)

Personally I would want the targa; a vette is meant for on-road cruising. If I want a track car, I'll get an F-body and mod it into sumbission :xyxthumbs

we would have...but it would look kinda silly on this size....we'd have to go with a plus size to get them to look nice....then we'd need a strong forged wheel that's light....plus size tires.....so that's like 3500$ or so.....what we did costed WAY less than that....and it is going to be an auto-x car so the whole black wheels theme goes along with that
 
first off nice job making those vehicles look nice. any one involved with making those two shine can be proud.



i also am not a fan of black rims....then why were my eyes drawn to it. from the first pick to the last pick (i looked many times) my attention went to the wheels first. i thought i did not like black rims.....? could it be..... i thought wrong.....?
 
My first reaction before opening this thread was, âہ“Black rims wonâ€â„¢t look good on a vetteâ€Â�!

I must say now that Iâ€â„¢m convinced I like, I like a lotâ€Â¦



Great detail, both vettes looks good itâ€â„¢s hard to choose a favorite

I too was looking for the Z06 trim...



how many do you think were built???
