Well this my first payed detail so I thought I would post up. This is friends 1994 Mazda mx6. My goal on this car was not to make it perfect but just better. The roof, hood and trunk had bad oxidation.
My process:
Wash: 50/60 GC and dawn
Clay: Sonus grey clay. DP clay lube
polish: SFX-1 orange DAS pad on the bad oxidation
SFX-2 green DAS pad on the side spots
SFX-3 finish up after doing all other polishes
wax: nothing fancy just some mother carnuba wax
Overall I think I could have done a better job but I ran out of time. The hardest part of it all was making it look up to my standards. Different panels had been repainted at different times so I dont think I could ever get it to all match up.
Review on products: For the first time I used DP clay lube with the Souns grey clay. I like this lube a lot more than other lubes I have tried. It goes on like water and does not dry. The only problem is it can be a little hard to take off.
Problem: My orange DAS pad died. This is the 3rd car I have used it on and the backing feel off. I tried to hot glue it back together but that lasted about 30 seconds.
Before:
what are those things? They will not come out (did not really try).
After
I dont have any really good pics. But look on the upper right part of the hood that gives you an idea what the SFX-1 can do to the oxidation
Best after I have ran out of light. It looks much better in person.
It not half as good as what most of you guys do but the owner was very happy.
