Red Hot Integra Type S

Gen2

New member
This Integra is about 1 year plus old and is maintained by the owner himself. But on and off the car was sent to petrol station car wash, so quite a fair bit of hand induced swirls and surface scratches were created on the car. The owner felt that it was about time the car needed a make over.

It was a cloudy when the detailing was done, so no ways to capture the defects on the paint work under the sun. Below are three photos showing the before and after using a spot light,

Process is,

- wash

- clay

- PG + cutting pad + DA speed 5.5

- PO106FF + polishing pad + DA speed 4.5

This car came with single stage paint and there was quite a bit of paint transfer onto the buffer pads, thus making the pad ‘caked up’ quite easily. After the polishing stage, I applied Prime Carnauba with a foam applicator by hand, working panel by panel. Than followed by Acrylic Jett Trigger using a plush MF towel and here’s the result.

Wow! That car is gorgeous - beautiful work, and great photos too. That red is just stunning...no other word seems to fit. Well done!

Very nice.

What are those studs along the trunk? Any function/reason?

look relly nice and wet!! ^ its probably because of a wing i assume... probably didnt want to weld up the holes and grind it flat so he put screws in the holes lol.

Hey guys thanks for the compliments and all the kind words.

evenflow - The lights you saw on the car are all stock and according to the owner this is a facelift model.

UnsanePyro - Like another qx4 has mentioned, the studs are put in to cover the holes of the former wing on the boot. Initially I thought the owner did this on purpose because I thought the studs look good on the boot that way.

two thumbs up!

one for the work you did and one for single stage reds ;)

They're discontinuing that model in the US (known as the Acura RSX Type S). I always liked the look of it, tho.

Scottwax- I believe Prime Carnauba does help in bring the red to look that great.

animes2k - Personally I also like the look of this model, especially when it is in black or red

I am using a pretty old Olympus C-2040Zoom 2.1 megapixel digital camera and recently it seems like giving me some problem already.

By the time I finished the work it was already quite late and it also happened to be a cloudy day, so did not manage to capture any direct sun shots.
