I did this car two weeks ago and then the guy’s Ford Escape....but that will be another thread.

The exterior process;

Wash w/NXT

Clay lower half and front

Polished with 70/30 mix Menz FP & RMG white CCS pad

Tailgate/bumper area with OC yellow pad 2x (you'll see why)

Blackfire by hand over entire vehicle

Wheels > KAIO

Tires > Megs hot shine

Exhaust > S100 polishing soap

Windows > Megs NXT glass

The interior process:Vacuum

Lexol on seats

303 on vinyl

Window got NXT as well

The vehicle had light swirling that I removed by about 90%. The back bumper was toast because he races the vehicle at the track and uses race gas, so the exhaust had coated the back end and was not coming off with just a wash...so on to the pics!!

Wheels before-

Back before -

Front before -

Front before -

Engine before (forgot to take an after ...DOH!!)

Back during ...notice the left side has one pass on it...the right is untouched.

back before....

back after 2 passes w/OC

Front after -

Front/hood after-

Side after -

Wheel after -

Fender after -

Back after -

Back deck -

Inside after....wish I had taken befores on this one....cigar ashes everywhere.

Back after -

The SSR turned out better than I expected, but the exhaust pipes inside were not easy to clean. The chrome came out great, but the inside I was unable to get to come completely clean....that race gas is nasty.

Comments welcome.

That is one fugly vehicle. Awesome job detailing it!

To each their own, but I think those are some sweet looking vehicles. I have been in love with those since the concept came out. one day I hope to own one!! :2thumbs:

He says it dyno'ed at 525hp to the rear wheels on race fuel. That thing is downright nasty sounding too.

I started it in the garage and the whole garage just vibrates.........freakin awesome. You couldn't knock the smile off my face. :grinno:

HOLY CRAP!! super sleeper for sure... not a hint on the outside of whats under the hood. Those SSR's are a blast to detail... such nice rounded lines almost seems like you never have to lift the machine off the paint.

In stock form I don't totally disagree with you... they sit way too high and just dont' look right, but with some suspension work they look much better IMO

I wish....the only driving I did was moving it in and out of the garage.:grinno:

He is one of my neighbors and I'd have to drive by his house to get out of the subdivision........not sure that would go over well.:bat

Nice SSR, total sleeper.

You mentioned that the tips were hard to clean, with the S100 polishing soap I'm guessing. Are you using the same thing to clean inside the tips? Mine has carbon all inside it and I was wondering what would work good on removing it.
