Recoomendation for a new Black Saffire BMW

I'm soon to take delivery of a 2011 BMW Black Saffire X6.

Help me keep it beautiful with a simple and effective by hand paint management plan.

I'm an not at this time planning on doing anything but by hand as I have NO experience otherwise.

What should I do as I leave the showroom, and soon thereafter.

Certainly, a new collection of mitts, towels and fibers is a given. Weekly washing is too a given.

You expertise is appreciated.

Peter

I've detailed as old as a 2000 Black Sapphire to as new as a 2010 Black Sapphire (BSM as we BMW owners refer to it) and the best process is to go ahead and clay the paint and follow it up, IMO, with Extreme Depth Carnauba w/ M-Seal from Chemical Guys.

The depth & clarity are outstanding .... you can view them through my link below.

Congrats on the new BMW...you and member at the fest?

for your new ride...a clay would be a good starter...then light polishing to clean up the surface...then with the black I would glaze, using Poorbboys Black hole..super depth in shine...then I would top off that with a sealant...wait for that to cure and top off with paste wax

I've owned two jet black BMW's and that's what I did and loved the finish:D

I currently own a JB 335i and will NEVER EVER own black again, period. Then again, it's tough to beat the clarity when it's clean .......

SO TO CONFIRM: DELIVERY HAPPENED TODAY 2/26!!

Tomorrow it will be in high 40's outside Phila.

X6 is beautiful, and the detail dept at BMW knew to prep car right.

Nonetheless my plan:

light wash
light clay

Chemical guys N-seal and allow to cure overnight.

(Clearbra and window tint first thing next am.)

Then Blackhole show glaze
finish with a coat 50/50.

What do you guys think???

Very nice, Peter. Like the plan ........... M-Seal & 50/50 make a great combo and will have the BSM glistening. Just remember, apply the 50/50 VERY light ....... less is best. ;)

I never had any good luck with cg sealants. Look great for 2-4 days then falls off like a cliff. Even when topped.

Do I really need to cure sealant, or can I power thru my plan layer after layer?

It's generally best to let a sealant cure for a minimum of a 1/2 hour + depending on what you're using. Most of CG sealants are good to go at this point regarding layering.

The wax you'll want to apply afterward and then maybe see what ya thinnk from that point.

I've used them without fail for more than 4 years now & have yet to see them fail. Black Light being the most recent "go to" sealant..

They had their chance with me when jet seal was all the buzz = FAIL.

Black Light is getting alot of play on the eurpean boards right now. Lets see what happens iin 6 months.

I've been using it (Black Light /V7 Hybrid spray sealant) for just under a month so far ........ Jetseal is history at this point.
