Recommended wax for white paint

Has anyone used Stoner's More Shine Less Time (MSLT)? If so, how does it stack up against Black Opal, in terms of shine, durability, and how well it lasts in cold weather?



I know im one of the few whom likes BO, but I always love to try new products in search of the ultimate, long-lasting, ghetto shine dressing.
 
I've used MSLT. It's an interesting product. If you want fast, easy result, it is a solution. However, you cannot wipe the tire until MSLT is dry. So, if you don't apply it evenly... you live with it. Seems to last okay. You control the shine by the amount you apply. Overspray is a problem if you spray too much.

it was 'OK', not bad and not good. It won't give you the ultimate shine, if that's what your looking for. There are lots of other products out there that are better in my opinion, but Stoner's is a decent product. It did not last more than a couple of days but it was great at not attracting dust and dirt. (Probably because it was relatively light in body)
 
I recently purchased a new 2009 Avalanche, WHITE in color. I would like to know what would be the best products to keep it looking its best. I see a lot of talk about the "Fire over Ice" but it seems to on dark color vehicles. I have put a layer of liquid Souveran on it since I purchased it in Dec. to give it some protection. I do not own any type of machine polisher at this time. Thanks for your input.

Hey Kevin... Welcome to TID!

I've owned several white (GM!) vehicles and I would recommend either of these two products for white:

  • Blackfire Wet Diamond
  • Zaino Z2Pro

With these sealants, even white can "pop"!

I used BFWD on my Trans Am; but it has had many coats of Z2Pro also with equal results.

Easy on, easy off, super shiny and long-lasting!

(I'm not real big on carnuba waxes on daily drivers because it just doesn't have the longevity... but no one can argue with the shine!):biggrin:

I agree with Bill. I have a silver car and the BFWD looks amazing. I have also used P21S with great results.
 
Welcome to TID 02heritage, great purchase there and for white I love using Blackfire Wet Diamond All Finish Paint Protection then topping it with Collinite no. 476 wax. Best shine and best durability for white finishes IMO......:wizard:
 
I'm going with Bill (Luster) on this... BFWD and Z2Pro would be my two choices, but BFWD wins out on ease of use and slickness, where Z2Pro gets a slight edge in shine and durability (Z2Pro - Z5Pro), first product I've ever used that got me through a Canadian winter.

I subscribe to the Mike Phillips philosophy... "if it looks good on black, it will look good on anything". BFWD looks GREAT on black, thus there is NO reason it won't look great on white.

BTW, I own a Starfire Pearl (White - Tricoat) IS350 and my recommendation comes from my experience with my own car.

I would give Meguiars M20 Polymer Sealant a try. You can purchase it here as well

Are you looking to get a one-stepper or do you plan on polishing before putting on the protection? If you're strictly going for protection with no cleaners, I would go the Blackfire Wet Diamond route. It's easy on, easy off. I have yet to find anything that outlasts Z2Pro (In my experience), but it's pretty temperamental in the application.
If you share with us more info. on what you plan to do and want to achieve, I'm sure the folks here can/will steer you in the right direction.:)
 
Thanks for the replys. I am not really looking for an AIO. Do not mind polishing before a sealant or wax. I do not have a powered polisher at this time. I do not think that the paint needs any correction other than a clay bar to remove some bonded contaminants. I have done this to the hood already and it feels much better, not sure that it looks any different than the rest of the truck but much slicker. Just wanting to know the best products for white.
 
on white

try correcting any defects after using a clay, and then. BFWD, and natty's red,and then more red, or bfwd and then natty's blue blue blue and then red and red over the bfwd. as a topper. You will see the difference.
