Recommendations for starting detailing as a side job

Legendary Detailing
Can you guys give me some recommendations/tips for detailing as a side job. Like what services should i offer, etc. Im a poor college kid so i wont be hauling a van towing a 100 gallon tank of water or anything like that. I was thinking of going to someones house, using there hose, etc.

I have done many other peoples cars by word of mouth as my friends told family and friends about me. I thought about going about promoting this by putting flyers on cars, making a few buisness cards, etc.

Also, what are the essentials products i will need. This is what i was thinking about now as the bare minimum (shampoo, wheel cleaner, tire shine, products for the interior, car vac, wax, polish, polymer sealant, etc. in no peticular order)

I do have alot of stuff already, buffer, all items i mentioned above and alot more, microfiber towels, etc. I was thinking about ordering some stuff from poorboys and also the klasse twins.

Please help me out. thanks, james

I am doing mobile detailing out of a small 4 seater. It works perfectly. So you dont need a big van or anything.

If your going all out and your going to get a business license and that stuff, for CA, your not allowed to let water enter the storm drains. So take that into consideration. I am using Protect All QEW because of this. I dont know how this would effect you if your going to keep this really small... but its worth looking into.

I do recommend that you get your business license and a business name though. Its really easy to do (in CA at least) and it should be pretty cheap. It would also be a really great thing to put on a resume if needed in the future.

I would also recommend that you get some products from Poorboys. The main reason is that you can use them in direct sunlight with no problems. You might not always have a garage to work in.

Hope this helps
