Recommend some products for me...

I have a champagne Olds Aurora, and have some disposable income to spend on some supplies. I have a PC already, and an abundance of MF towels.

Need some recommendations on some new supplies though.

I am going to try something other than 3M or Meguiars products.

Want to know what you would recommend for the likes of Swirl Mark removers, light scratch removers. New waxes to try, or polishes better than the Meguiars Proffesional line. I have S100 and am happy with it.

I would like to try a polymer sealant, but don't know if I should go with Zaino, or UPP. Which would look better with the lighter color car that I have?

I also am having problems removing some fine scratches with the products I have, IF I can't remove these will the likes of Z-5 or something similar hide these scratches before I seal it?

Just give me some products to look at that you are extremely happy with!

Thanks for the help!:xyxthumbs

I know I'm a newbie here but I have experience with tons of waxes and a few polishes so here goes.

I've used Zaino and I can say it will give your car a totally different appearance. Rather than enhancing the metallic flakes in your paint it will mostly mask them with the extreme shine it creates. It's almost like applying a sheet of ice over your paint, you gain reflectivity but lose depth. It will however provide much better protection and a super slick finish in comparison to the P21S.

Z5 will only work on the lightest of swirls on your car (the type that could also be filled by the oils in your finger), it won't do much else. If you use Zaino definitely polish the car completely before you wash with Dawn.

I haven't tried the Pinnacle Souveran but I've heard great things about it. Might be worth spending the cash to buy it and Crystal Mist. From the sounds of it you wax regularly anyways so protection shouldn't be an issue.

With regards to polishes I'm only familiar with the Meguiars, but if your determined to try something new everyone has been saying great things about the Menzerna Polishes. Hopefully others that have used this product can chime in with their results.

Keep us posted with your decisions and definitely post results!:)

I don't have any swirl marks, but I do have some light scratches that I can't seem to take care of, no matter what I try...I am beginning to wonder if they are actually clear coat damage rather than scratches, cause I can't even budge them.

Keep the recommendations coming!!

Sounds like the same problem I have with my clearcoat. Heavy scratches can not be filled, the only way to remove a scratch is by removing the paint around the scratch to create an even surface.

I followed the following procedure just on my bootlid which removed ALL the scratches on my old German paint.

1. Begin by measuring the paint thickness on several areas of your car. Try to find out what the actual depth of the paint should be to make sure you have enough paint to work with. If your ok on paint depth go to step two.

2. Using a rotary start with the Meguiars Dual Action Polisher (can't remember the correct pad but I know it was the firmest Meguiars pad Maroon in color) Polish the area, wipe down with QD and determine if the scratches have been removed. If there is no change go to step 3.

3. Using a rotary and the Meguiars Diamond Cut (same Maroon Pad) polish the same area. This is what removed my scratches and left a perfect finish.

4. After Diamond Cut go back to the Dual Action Polish but use a softer pad (equiv to yellow Meguiars pad)

5. Apply a hand polish or follow sealant manufacturers recommendations.

6. Finish with your wax/sealant of choice.

I only did this on my boot lid because I noticed it did remove a measurable amount of clearcoat, I decided I could live with the scratches.

The thing is, I don't think they are "heavy" scratches. I ran my fingernail over them and didn't feel anything, but still none of the products I've used have effectively removed them...or even budged them?

Any more recommendations?
