Recommend Air Freshener?

The problem I have with the CG air freshener is it doesn't even last a few days. The scent is literally gone after I spray it. Out of the 14 scents I purchased from Perfecar, I've used 5 of them and not a single one of those has lasted any more than a few hours.

I've purchased those sprays from Walmart before from Auto Expressions and to be honest, they actually work better than the CG air fresheners.

"My wife and I have had huge arguments about her spending habits at Yankee Candle. She's calmed down a bit a few years ago after she went a bit crazy at the Yankee Candle headquarter store in Massachusetts."

Are we married to the same girl? My wife is originally from Boston, so she likes to go to the HQ with her Mom. I had to try and explain that saving 10% on a candle was not such a good deal when it costs twice that to ship it to California....

The house does smell nice though!

When we first got our truck, it smelled like smoke. when you park in the garage at night, open all the windows, it helps the smell go away quicker

That is freakin' HILARIOUS! We're from California too, but my wife is from the Northeast and part of our vacation when we went there a few years ago was visiting the Yankee Candle store in I believe Deerfield, MA? She bought so much stuff there that we had to ship it back home to CA. We got into an argument right after she had just checked out and we were sitting in the rental in their parking lot. I told her the same exact thing you told your wife, about it costing more to ship it than any savings she may have gotten. Then she responded with "I've been really looking forward to shopping at the Yankee Candle HQ store and you ruined this experience for me".

She knows I was right though and since that day she hasn't gone crazy at Yankee Candle anymore. But we'll see how long that lasts LOL

I've had the opportunity to try CG's new car scent.

As mentioned, it doesn't really smell like a new car, it does smell like baby powder or something like that.

It's an okay smell, and it seems to last a week - at least in the cars I have used it in. Not too shabby overall.

I have used the Ozium spray before and have found it to be effective in removing odors. I also have applied that spray you see advertised for refreshing musty couches (forgot the name). I recommend shampooing your mats and cleaning your interior with a woolite/water mix. All of these techniques have proven to work with my wifes minivan that totes 4 kids around.

Maybe I got a bad batch or my air fresheners have sat too long in the garage, but I cannot get the CG air freshener to last at all.

So a couple of days ago I gave my car interior a shampoo. Decided to try a new scent that the wife wouldn't mind smelling (Cherry). We got in the car right after I had gotten done spraying it and she commented how she couldn't smell anything.

Since spraying it didn't seem to work, I decided to pour some of the bottle into an old Califorina air freshener with those little blocks inside them. Nope, that doesn't work either.

I have to say this product has been my biggest disappointment. I have an old bottle of cheap air freshener I got in the automotive aisle of Walmart at least 4 or 5 years ago, and it's been left in my car parked outside 24/7 and it still works better than CG's air freshener.

I used to buy the CS-X3 when they were first popular among import owners. Smells nice and lasts for awhile, but I got tired of seeing it on the dashboard, especially when everybody and their mama had one too. I also hated the fact that if you could find them, most likely your only choice would be the squash scent, which is a nice scent but my wife never cared for it. But I mainly quit using it because it seemed like the import shops that sold them at the time carried the main dispenser, but never any refills. I didn't want to spend $10+ each time for it.

Fast forward almost 10 years and not much has changed. But at least Super Autobacs carries them now along with the refills.

i hate what my bf calls BMW smell.

it smells like bleach, ice and leather.

I know EXACTLY what he's talking about...I had that in my Benz.... I dont like that...lol

I currently use those little glass containers with the vented tops. mine is a little silver/black color with metallic flakes in it. the smell is "squash"....sounds gross but smells nice...

I actually recently put a Bounty dryer sheet on top of my in-cabin air filter.

It's actually pretty nice, although I have to say, I'm not used to have "artificial" scent in my car... usually, I prefer the "detailed" car smell... you know, just "clean."

The dryer sheet scent has a feel of "heavyness" to it, though, that I'm not really enjoying... it's hard to describe.

Doubtful that its a bad batch. I've heard way too many complaints about it only lasting hours to 2 days. I have almost a full gallon left of the stuff and I don't know what to do with it. Biggest waste of money to date for me.

I've used the vanilla wonder wafers in my car and friends ask if its a new car...wierd. It lasts a long time.

My sentiments exactly. There's been some products that I didn't care for, but they at least performed the job to a certain extent. CG's air freshener on the other hand just do not work at all. I'd hate to see any more people waste their money on a useless, junk product. You're seriously better off with any of the cheap fragrances at Walmart.

Basically the only thing good I'm left with are the little spray bottles.
