Recent Detail: Black Focus w/ WG Twins

JaCkaL829

it was my first time...
Here is a pretty recenty detail on my friend's 2000 Ford Focus. The last time the car was waxed was in August :scared .

My procedure for this car was wash(2x) with Mother's Car Wash, Polished with WG, and Sealed with WG. The paint looked a lot better: lots of depth and wetness which is what you'd expect from a black car. Here are the pics, hope you enjoy them ;) .

Looks very good! Wish there were more WG reports and pics. Question. If you have used them, how would you compare WG with EX or EX-P? Looks, ease of use, etc.? Also, did you use the WG detail?

Sorry Marty i've never used EX or EX-P. WG is very easy to use, wipes on and off, I didn't experience any problems with smearing. From what I understand EX or EX-P is as equally easy to use as WG, if not easier. If you are referring to the WG Instant Detail Spritz, yes I used it on this car the day after(the night I detailed it, it rained :angry ). The QD really revitalized the shine. I think all the WG products are really good: great results and easy to use. Can't go wrong wit em.

Thanks anyway, Johnny. Experienced the same next day dusty-rain spot problem. I swear the black truck looked just like it was made out of porcelain like Grandma's turkey roaster pan. Blackish with those funny white spots ALL over it.

Someone said the Spritz helped with dust settling during curing...(?). How long did you wait before putting on the Spritz? I use FI a lot and wonder if the Spritz "helps" the total process when using WG.

I applied 1 coat of WG Sealant around 2 pm then around 6 pm till the next morning it was a steady drizzle, so I really couldn't do anything. I'm not sure if this effected the cure time. I used the Spritz the next afternoon, so I guess around 24 hours. I guess it would help this time of year. I know pollen is really bad now, I did 3 trucks on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning they already had a light coat of pollen building up. If you had to wait 24 hours for it to fully cure, I'm sure a wipe with a QD wouldn't hurt.
