Really having difficulty with getting tires to look nice - and last

Really? I've been using Endurance gel for months and have never had a problem! I love the stuff.

And its always been bone-dry to the touch for me... in fact, just applied some yesterday on top of a WOWO Armor all tire foam application, and while it looks very wet (but in a clean way  ) it is totally dry to the touch!

Are you talking about High Endurance gel or some other Meg's product?

Yes, the purple coloured endurance gel.

Friends of mine had the same problem so they switched to sonus

I've tried a lot of things. The combo that works best for me is to clean the clean with regular car soap (foam gun and let it sit on the tire a few minutes) then scrub with your favorite tire mitt. Rinse and then apply AA tire foam and let sit for 5-10 minutes. This will further clean the tire and leave a nice base for your dressing. Think of it like good prep on your paint before an LSP. Rinse this off and then I put on FX tire shine and let sit for 3-5 minutes. The longer you let it sit the wetter it will be. I like a satiny shine, not the wet look so I wipe it off sooner. Wipe off the excess and your tires will look amazing for 2 weeks and very good for 3 weeks with no sling. It does for me anyway.

+1 for black magic. I am sure you know this, but I will tell you anyway. Make sure you use a carboard cutout to protect the wheels and most importantly the brake calipers and rotors from overspray and don't drive it until dry especially when raining. If this stuff gets on your rotors your asking for all kinds of brake problems. It may not happen this week, but it will in time. Sticky rotors.........then warped rotors and bad pads.

I mix Endurance & 303, looks awesome and lasts.

I am extremely interested in this!

What type of ratio do you use? It also seems like it would help in the ease of application. My wife's car has tires with tons of little grooves in them, sometimes endurance can be a little bit of a pain due to the thickness of it.

Sorry to say I dont have a ratio, but I make it liquid enough to spray. I found some sprayers at the dollar store that have a round foam doughnut attached to the head which is perfect for spraying and wiping at the same time. Gets in all of the grooves with no mess.

You can also follow up the application of endurance with a bristle paint brush to help the gel into the grooves.

yea, endurance is difficult to use on tires with more complex designs. What I found works best is putting SOME type of base underneath... I personally spray AA Foam, then wipe off immediately after application.

It allows me to get a very nice, even application without wasting a lot of product... and somehow, it manages to get into nearly all the grooves nicely.

Sorry for all the unneccessary confusion, but it turns out I just needed to let the tires dry fully.

In my previous rush to wash the car I did the wheels last and applied the tire protectant immediatetly after washing the tire.

When the tire is dry, it seems a stronger bond is formed between the two.

I put AA Tire Foam (original) in my wells and on my tires and it looks great!

When my tires were dry, any amount of Mothers FX I put on it would soak into the rubber. So I used meguairs endures over the dry rubber. It definitely lasts, but it doesn't have that look I wanted. So then I used the Mothers FX over the endurance a few days later and now it looks great. I guess the endurance is preventing the mothers fx from soaking into the tire. It just works great for me :nixweiss

Try scrubbing off the old dressing with some AP before putting on a new application or make sure you tires are not too old they might be dry and just sucking up the dressing

I use AA Extreme Gel and AA Tire Foam Regular, love both. But everytime I read something on TOL's dressing and cleaner, I keep getting more interested in it. Funny part is I looked the stuff up and both are cheap as hell, seems like a good product if its that cheap yet I haven't seen one bad review on their tire cleaner or dressing.
