Re: restore on single stage red paint

Hey guys check out my detail from this weekend on my car. 1993 Ford Mustang GT Convertible. I used 3M fine cut rubbing compound, #7, and then topped it with Meg NXT wax.

NXT was so easy to use and I loved the results!!

I used 3M rubbing compound on the trim and then Mothers back to black.

Castrol Super Clean for the engine and top, and then 303 protectant to proctect the top.

Thanks i did it all by hand. Took the majority of the day, from noon till about 7. Oh I forgot to mention, I washed the car with Meguiars car wash, used Meguiars Clay bar, then I used meg's quick detail after the clay.

I have had 3M compound for a long time I have been scared to use it lol. Then I saw in the prof detail forum and detail on single stage red the guy used it. So that gave me the courage to try it. I probably should have used #9 after the rubbing compound but new I'd be pressed on time. I honestly didn't think I'd get these results without a rotary or PC. Saved myselt 179 bucks not buying the PC for it lol. I did pick up the NXT because its supposed to last longer than carnuba. We'll see over the next month how the finish holds up.

I love #7 but tough to remove. 3M rubbing compound was a breeze to work with and was very impressive. If I had a PC I would have added DACP and/or #9. But didn't have time by hand.
