Re-paint

I asked a local paint shop to re-paint my Mercedes's front/rear bumpers and side moldings to match the paint of the car.



(Originally the car has gray bumpers and side moldings)



He quoted me a price of $1000. Is it accurate or outrageous?

Who knows? There's no way any of us can answer that question accurately.



How many estimates do you have?

What exactly are the diffs between estimates?

What are the reputations of the shops you received estimates from?

What have previous customers of these shops said about the quality of work?



I can prolly find you some good ol' boy in the backwoods of Georgia who will do that job for a lot less that $1000. If price is all that matters, it's easy to find someone cheap.

Ok guys, i went to 2 more painters and this is what they said:



1) Will charge $200 plus $150 for buffing

2) Will charge $800



I somehow trust the second one as he said he has done these kinds of jobs on W140s before..



Any input appreciated!

800-1000 sounds about right. i dont know any painter that charges or even mentions buffing as an extra cost to the paintjob, sounds like it would be a hack job.
