Raydiant Detail - Tesla Model 3 - Polish Angel Cosmic v2

Hey All,

I recently performed a light polish and coating on this Tesla Model 3. The car is wrapped in PPF but the owner wanted that extra pop and protection. The PPF literally had poor hydrophobic properties as the water was behaving like it would on an unprotected vehicle. I know he invested a ton of money in the PPF so it only makes sense to protect that investment as well.

The PPF had the regular wash marring as he had the monthly pass to the unlimited swirl-o-matic wash. After discussion of the process and maintenance he decided to go with a maintenance package through me as well so that the car will be properly maintained going forward.

I never really wanted to own a Tesla or had any inclination towards one till I drove his car. Now I can definitely see one in my future. it was pretty sweet.

Products used:

Pre-foam with Angelwax Foam Soap 1:10 dilution
2BM wash with Megs HyperWash and Gyeon Silk Mitt/ dedicated MF mitt for dirty panel areas
Wheels/ wheel wells cleaned with angelwax pre-foam to dwell, rinsed, then Megs Wheel Brightener/ Iron X with a mix of brushes on the wheels. Tires cleaned with tufshine tire cleaner. Dressed with BlackFire Tire Sealant. Wheels protected with Gyeon Wet Coat.
Decontamination with Iron X, Griots Fast Prep Mitt, and Nanoskin Glide as Clay Lube.
PPF polished with CarPro Essence, Yellow Rupes Pad, and mix of machines - GG15, GG21, Rupes LHR75e, and Rupes Mini
Protected with 2 coats of PA Glasscoat Cosmic V2, topped with Cosmic Spritz
Glass cleaned with Polish Angel Diver and glass cleaning waffle towels

Awesome job !!! Looks 100% better !!!
Whose PPF is that ??

Thanks Dan! It just needed a little bit of love.
I believe it is XPEL. It`s a precut kit and he paid quite a penny for it. I believe a local company in Atlanta did the work.

Great work and write up and pictures!

Would like to test drive one of those Tesla Model 3. Not much of Teslas here in Sweden. And very few electric cars in the country side where I live. Hybrids we see some of but not the full electric cars yet. But have more on the mileage they can handle. The Goverment has as a goal that the fossil fuels is gone by 2030. And I think that it`s the new cars that it`s includes. Cause it will be a riot if they are going to forbidd the classic cars and we have a lot of american classic cars in awesome conditions here in Sweden. Maybe in future we ship back the american classic cars to you since we don`t have any fuel to drive them with LOL. Hehe a little of topic LOL

Every time I look at a Polish Angel protection they go more to the carnuaba glow look than the crispy coating look. I like the first look more. The finish is beutieful on the Tesla!

Thanks Tony! I appreciate the kind words.

I agree, I love the look of the PA products as it adds that nice warm glow over other ceramics as you mentioned. I thought it would give the car a nice warm glow since the PPF does give it that slight crisp/ plastic look.

It was definitely an interesting drive. Very different than driving a gas powered car. I like the fusion of technology. The self driving feature is pretty cool.
I would love a classic american muscle like a 64 GTO :)

The PPF and PA combo where a great match. In the pictures I would not even thought it`s a PPF on it. Then PPF has come a long way in that it`s hard to notice it`s on the vehicals. My stepfathers work truck a Nissan Navara had got some scratches on the front bumper. Took out the Shinemate EX603 mini polisher and a polish and polishing pad. Nope not even a ding on the scratches and moved up to compound and cutting pad. And still no correction but the very tiny scratches. Looked a bit closer to the paint and then in the seam. Crap it`s was a PPF of some kind that where very hard to correct. Don`t know if it`s from Nissan or if it`s aftermarket applyied. From now on I will look very closely if some kind of PPF or wrap is on the vehical LOL.

There are so many nice american classic cars I would want. The favorite is Chevrolet Bel Air -55 or -57 cabriolet. If an american muscle classic Chevrolet Chevelle -70 with a 454 engine. I`m attending a lot of american classic cruising events during the summer. It`s a big thing here in Sweden. Every weekend it`s in a city or town. We drive around the town in a following way. And many people comes out and look at us. We meet up before and after and it`s a fun events to be to. Have thought of doing a thread here and show the interest that`s is here in Sweden and how it looks and how many awesomes american classic cars we have here.

Ahhhh, to your experience with the PPF on the work truck - I think the older PPF that did not have the self healing capabilities were difficult to correct as you experienced. I have similar 3M PPF on the front end of my Mazda which is now about 10 years old and it is the same. A polish will help clean it up but it won`t really remove any scratches induced. However I am amazed at how well its held up. No real yellowing and its only lifted in a few spots where a rock probably hit it at the seam and it tore.

The newer PPF with self heal technology are nice because polishing/ applying heat will help remove the light scratches/ imperfections. I think scratches that are past the self heal layer, which is about 13microns thick, will remain though. I`d like to complete the XPEL PPF training this year at some point to begin offering it as a service.

It would be cool to see pics from your classic car shows in Sweden. On a side note - I visited Sweden when I was a baby lol. My mom has close cousins there and used to visit often with me in tow. (i think there are quite a lot of Persians in Sweden) I don`t remember much as I was around 4 years old, but I have pictures of my time there in the 80`s and it always looked beautiful. I`d love to bring my family out there some day for a visit.

Yeah PPF has a bit future for installers as I think it`s getting more and interested to have it.

Awesome that you have been here! Yeah during different times we had people from all over the world that came to work here as we then did not have workers enough for the industries and some other work categories.

Swedens sea coasts are awesome in the summer months. And fun to re-live the childhood places you visited. Any questions you would have in the future if considering to visit. I would gladly try to help if I can.

This where taken during a event in the city of Falkenberg and is called Wheel and Wings. It`s a 2 day event that around of 5000 cars and 15000 people where at. It`s Meet with all kind of sellers both private and companies has there tents and promote or and sells stuff with connections to classic cars and also newer cars but mostly american inspired. On the second day at the evening the cruising is in town with up to 3000 cars older than 1978 was only attending. The meet was at a racetrack. And the picture shows maybe 1/4 of the cars there older classic cars and newer american cars is allowed to park in the racetrack area.

This was taken during the cruising. It`s me driving my best friends Chevrolet Caprice in original with a 454. Was imported from Texas to Sweden for about 6 years ago. They think that 20000 people got out and sat and stood beside the roads in the city of Falkenberg and looking and having a fun time.

Amazing work!

Gets PPE installed and then decides to use the swirlomatic.
Thanks!

I think that just boiled down to it being easy to take it through the car wash then washing at home. Now that hes on my maintenance plan itll get proper care for sure.
