As you will see from the before pics, this car was loaded with deep cob-webbing, holograms, RIDS, and water spots. The hood and fender had been repainted at one time and had one of the hardest clear coats I’ve ever laid a buffer to. After several passes with the wool pad and M105 I decided to just wet sand the panel lightly to get out the deeper scratches.

I felt this car would be a good candidate for trying out the KBM on my PC. Although I did not decide on this method for correction, I was amazed at what M105 would do with a PC, speed of 6, and a 6.5” orange foam pad. I took a couple 50/50 shots, which was after two applications (4-6) passes each. I will say the vibration is too much for my liking on the speed setting of 6.

Rasky I have a confession to make....I was cruising around Autopia and saw this post there first. But since I don't have an account over there, I'll give you my :bigups here.

Great work on the Evo! I hope you gave the owner some pointers to keep it looking nice.

OMG, that friggin car is gorgeous!!...

Especially after you got done with it. What a job you did!! Unreal turnaround.

How much better was the rotary wth the 105 than the PC do you think?

Looks great, nice work

Hahaha! It's all good; I enjoy all the forums and don't mind where you comment on my work...

Both work excellent IMO and the only reason I didn't use the PC was because I haven't played around with the KBM enough to feel comfortable doing a whole car with it...I'm honestly still waiting for the paper to come out. :D

The vibration was also killing my hands at a speed of 6. On top of that I noticed the pads gumming up after a few sections and regular cleaning of the pad on the fly was not removing it. Other than that I may have been able to do the whole car in 2, maybe 3 steps with the KBM.

I do feel much more proficient with the rotary too.

THATS why I LIKE BLACK!! thats great I wish you were closer I would have you do all mine.:yay

18 hrs,now i don't feel so bad spending as long as I do on my stuff.:passout:

a few q's and statements here

first off SICK JOB as ALWAYS !

i dont know if its me or anything but is that long really needed on a car so new ?

and is there anyway some of the steps could have been tweaked to save time and achieve the same result ?

about how much finish on the paint did you feel you had to remove to get to the final result ??? a brothers friend has a pontiac G5 coupe with about as bad as paint as this and it is black which makes it even worse im wondering how i could cut some time to get rid of his deep swirl problem ...

4-6 passes with a 6.5 orange pad with M105 wow i am impressed i cant wait to use my combo with the PC ...

and again i thinkj i have the same halogen yellow tripods i just bought this past week

yada yada yada i think thats all

and GOOD JOB ! (y)

Don't forget to edit your post for the UF and rotary:D

To those wondering those wheels don't have center caps, that's how they're supposed to look
