Rasky's Auto Detailing
Dodge Caliber

This is the 4th vehicle I've done for this customer now and this was actually his wifes car. I asked if she worked at the salt plant! :D

Paint was in good condition so it only needed a 1-step correction...interior was another story!

Before

Insides of the wheels were covered in undercoating. >:(

Paint had only light cob webbing

Drivers side carpet

Salt salt and more salt!

1 step with M205 via the Flex with W8207 pad. Was hard to capture 50/50 shot

After

Wheels were cleaned and then Tarnminator was used to get off undercoating

Drivers side after...I did clean up the spot of dust on the seat. I kneeled on it to take a pic of the console.

Thanks for looking,

Great job on the interior! I would also like to know how you took care of the carpets. Did you use a hot water extractor?

Nice interior cleanup. I think that's one of the worst interiors I've seen in a good while. I always wonder how people can let it get to that point.:down

Work and kids. Mon-Fri, up at 6:30 to get kids off to school, head to work, get off, pick up kids from practice just before dark, get home, get a meal, catch up with your spouse, and it's 9:30. Catch a show or two and off to bed.

Weekends are owned by kids, household chores, etc. By Sunday night you're so tired you skip the news and go straight to bed, then the cycle starts up again.

Been there, done that. Before you know it, 6 or 8 months have passed, your car is absolutely filthy, and you aren't sure how to get it cleaned. Very few people have the luxury of time to put 8-10 hours into getting a car properly cleaned after half a year or a year of neglect.

Thanks guys!

For the carpets I used APC+, agitated them with a stiff carpet brush, extracted with LGM using Folex solution, follow up with shop vac. I had to hit the salt areas a few times. Seats I used APC+, vinyl/dash got Meguiars Ultimate Quick Interior Detailer.

IMO, after seeing how cheap the interior materials were on this car I'm not surprised that Dodge is in trouble. :nervous:

@RaskyR1:

Very nice detail and agree 100% about the level of fit/finish on the Caliber. It seems like there are many good design ideas hampered by blatant cost cutting. Very sharp, hard plastic abounds.

Nice work!

Funny you said that because I was having this exact same conversation yesterday. I had one of these recently as a rental car, and couldn't believe how poorly these were designed and made. When these companies are analyzing their business woes, they need to look no further than in the mirror!

Have the roads cleaned up enough up there to get the mighty R1 out?

Thanks for all the great comments guys.

Very true!

Roads are cleaned up but my R1 has been gone for a while now. I'm getting married next summer and the bike had to go buh bye for a while. :faint:

Riding is in my blood now and I will have another soon enough.:xyxthumbs

Only thing I did like about it was the flip out speakers on the lift gate. :up
