Random thoughts thread

Guess this is the right thread for this:

Regarding the mass shooting in Las Vegas- The most common pic shows a guy and two gals dashing for cover, and looking at how they were attired made me think that had it not been a Country Music show the toll would`ve been much worse....because many of those concert-goers were undoubtedly wearing Cowboy boots, which are decent footwear for emergencies.

These days, many people leave the house in flip-flops or other such footwear that`s simply not gonna cut it in an emergent situation. People I know IRL actually smirk and say stuff like: "oh, nothing`s gonna happen"; I`ll take my chances"; "I`ll be fine." OK, hope that works for you.

All-in-all, I live an awfully safe, secure, 1st World existence, but there`ve been plenty of occasions when wearing functionally appropriate footwear was of critical benefit to me. [Stuff] happens, and Darwinism plays favorites its own way.

If it`s any consolation, it`s been longer than that since I`ve washed any of ours. The Tahoe could stand a cleanup, but the dogs don`t mind...the others look OK since I do the wheels/tires now and then and they haven`t been rained on.

past tense now...got oil changed, now washed and ready for some tlc before the show in houston this weekend

Amazing how much stuff falls out the trees in the rain. Parked my car slightly under a tree at work the other day and i think i have a little sap on it. small round clear drops that almost look like clear caterpillar poop or that explosive fungus stuff tiny clear pimples. Good think is the cars black so it shouldn`t leave any marring getting those off next wash.

It`s supposed to rain all next week, but I still washed it off. Still parked in the same spot. Think I`m a glutton for punishment.
 
MLB playoffs during the day is a nice change of pace- I don`t watch baseball during the regular season very much but enjoy the plaoffs.
I wonder how many of these people called in to work or skipped school (I presume people do that) to go to the Red Sox game.

I`ve definitely called in to go to playoff games.
 
dream car week on price is right- lady just won a slick looking black lexus coupe worth $97,900 .. hope she has the $ to pay for the taxes and title :) still a heck of a deal!

Lady at the bank: "Can I get an auto loan for $8,000!" Bank: "Sure what kind of used car are you looking to buy?" Lady: " A $100,000 Lexus."

I would love to see the reaction of the bank employee.
 
Butterfly Effect-

If I hadn’t spent 10 minutes finishing a rinseless wash on the back of the Mrs’ Q5 yesterday morning, would I still have had the back of my car rearranged on the way to work?

Yeah, if I had ever considered custom exhaust, this wasn’t the way I’d thought about going about it...
 
I just purchased a “smart” light bulb. I’m beginning to think Apple/Android HomeKit accessories are the most under rated thing as far as technology goes. You can choose any color and I like the soothing atmosphere this light gives. You can tell Siri to turn on/off the lights as well, and even make sure they’re off if you leave the house and forget they’re on.

they were trying to give away a new Camaro (v6 model) [on the price is right] and the quarters and 5 spoke wheels that were one it made it resemble a mustang a whole lot. such a different look from say the new ZL1 which just looks mean as heck
