RainX window cleaner

According to Rain-X's website, http://www.rainx.com/frame_auto_new.htm

they don't have a "cleaner". Are you talking about the wax protectant? I use it and like it. Once the windshield is clean apply it with a moist rag. In a few minutes buff it with a dry rag.

Once it is one you will feel like you're in an Alkaseltzer glass when you are in the rain. The water beads off so quickly, you won't rely on wipers nearly as much. PRetty neat. Theonly problem is that the wipers tend to chatter across the windshield when it is lightly raining.

you'll need to apply it about every month.

Having used 20\20 and Windex I would say nothing. You just look more professional using something other than Windex. It's more important to use a good MF towel to wipe off.

I Think I'll at least try the RainX cleaner and see what it does.

It can't be any worse than Windex and could even be a little better.

I saw it in the grocery store for about 3 bucks so it doesn't cost any more.

Anyway, It'll hold me over till I get some IG.

BTW...SaabScott has a valid question...DOES anyone know what the difference is between Windex and RainX ??

heres my take on the situation,

Ive heard, and I believe this is true if someone can back me up but using windex on tinted windows is very bad because of the amonia D in windex. I have used Stoners IG and the newer Sonus window clearer and both are very good. I found that using windex usually causes alot of streaking and can be a pain in the A$$ to buff out in certain situations. Staying with an automotive based window cleaner is always your best bet.

I bought the RainX testerday on my way home and tried it out.

I thought I smelled a hint ammonia in it but that may have been alcohol.

Anyway, IMO it works better than Windex. I've never been able to get the streaks off my glass with Windex but the RainX left no streaks or hazing. Now I want to try IG.

Once you try IG, you won't use anything else. It sounds stupid because after all "it's just a window cleaner", but the difference is night and day.

Stoners IG is the only glass cleaner i'll ever use. i even got the wife hooked on it for the windows and mirrors in the house! :)
