Not for nothing but the stuff always worked pretty good. Got to remember.. Im an old guy...

Anyway, fast forward to 2016...what can I use on my windshield to help see better in the rain? I was thinking Carpro Hydro2 lite. It it ok for glass??

Something else? Im open to suggestions.

I`ve been using Aquapel for years - usually find it for a decent price on Amazon. It works well for me, but there are lots of options. I`m those more knowledgeable than I will chime in. Good luck with your search.

Dan, I banned RainX from any windshield I owned decades ago. The product is a disaster...I can`t tell you how many problems I had with it and how difficult it can be to remove.

As Gordon notes, look at Aquapel as an excellent, modern alternative.

Thanks guys! You know I totally forgot about Aquapel. It comes in those tubes that look like smelling salts right??

Applied McKee`s glass coating 3 months ago and it`s still going strong.

And, whatever you choose to coat your windshield with, please don`t use Rain X, or those other heavily colored washer fluids. The thick Rain X formula, formed a layer on the metal pieces of my fluid level sensor, thus causing a "Low level" light being on all the time even when the reservoir was full.

I have used rainx for years works just fine for me and far cheaper than the other mention products, I have been using opti-seal on my glass and it`s a winner too!!!!!

Gtechniq G1 has shows some impressive durability for me. While it doesn`t make rain water fly off your window at speeds below 50mph, the rain beads up nicely and is easily wiped away. The beading allows for greatly improved visability. No wiper chatter either. I think im pushing 1 year since application and its still working great

Rain X was sold about 5-8 years ago to a company in Chicago. I`ve met the original founders of the product here in AZ. It is now re- formulated. It is a different product.

I used up my rainx on side windows. I learned that if you appy and remove with a damp towels it`s much easier. My best performing so far has been optimum glass coatings. Longest lasting and best performing. With all these things prep is the key.
