Rain-X and other glass products that sheet away water

Yeah, there was a short thread about that not too long ago:

I haven't really seen the retail version of it around here yet, but I haven't looked very hard because a local CarQuest that carries PPG paint also stocks Aquapel.

There was an even shorter thread about it last summer when I posted about first buying it. There weren't any really useful replies so I won't even bother with a link. The guys at the store where I bought it were surprised the packaging had changed, so I guess it was a fairly recent thing.

I did just buy some Aquapel from TireRack when I took advantage of their 2-for-1 sale on Valeo wipers. Other Products - Valeo Ultimate Wiper Blades (Hook-Lock)

Footnote on that deal. With just the wipers the shipping was about $7, but with just the Aquapel added it doubled to $14. I called and they agreed it was some kind of fluke and send the whole package for $7 shipping.

pepboys also carries the Glass treatment by PPG. Different packaging but I'm willing to believe that it is Aquapel.

I found them on a endcap.

Pretty much the same stuff; it comes in different forms like a squeeze bottle, a spray bottle, the wipes that you saw, and a gel or wax (not sure if that is still available).

I generally just use Klasse AIO, the light acrylic layer it leaves seems to last months. Glass beaded for 6 months easily for me. Now I just do a touch up of AW, just cause I can lol.

I put Klasse on as well, last fall, around late October or early November I would say. Put it on all windows and so far it has lasted through winter up here, still beads good.

OK, thanks.

Do anyone know how many windows a wipe is supose to cover?

Is it hard to apply on the glas?

Exactly how do you apply the AIO? Do you use SG as well? What is the process?

I've use both Aquawax and M#16 over the past year. Both work as well, if not better than rain-x. M#16 (imo) last longer than both rain-x and Aquawax.

Anyone have some feedback?

Just apply it like you would on paint. Wipe on, haze if necessary and wipe off. I used Aquawax on my windows for the first time this week. I was surprised how good the windows look now. I should have been doing this before. It was raining today and I didn't need the wipers. Cool.
