rain not beading...

I posted a thread with pictures of my dirty truck. Here are the pics of it.

However, I was able to rinse off most of it, and it looked fairly good. I was going to take it through a Touch-Free eariler this week, but I was waiting for the roads to clear up cause still lots of junk on it.

Anyway today its been raining (started as freezing rain). I came home this afternooon, and I took a look. Most of the car is still beading, the hood, front bumper, quarter panels, roof, and the top half of the doors. However the rear lifegate, rear bumper and bottom half of the sides of the doors are not beading at all!

I know its been a few months since I waxed it, but what should I do about it? Its too cold or bad weather outside, I don't have access to a garage.

Is it posible that there is just a film ontop of the wax and when I go tthrough the touch-free it should get rid of the rest and it will bead again? Any pitfalls to doing this?

What does it mean since its not beading where the worse of the roadspray/salt/slush was on the truck.

thanks

Dirt and road grime can prevent water from beading on a painted surface because it breaks down the surface tension of the water droplets.....

That makes sense to me! ;) Notice how all the areas that aren't beading are typically the areas most likely to pick up road film.

what wax is underneath it?

It might take some good old elbow grease (in the form of a good wash) to restore it. Rinsing, even with soap, just doesn't cut it sometimes.
