Rain + FK1000p causing white spots?

I just switched from UPGP to FK 1000p recently and while I really like 1000p, the last few times its rained (~5x), i've gotten white powerdery looking spots in various places on my car.

The spots wash off easily but since I've never seen this before, I'm guessing its the 1000p that's reacting with the something in the rain? If so, I may consider going back to UPGP.

Any thoughts?

You mean water spots? Anything that beads is going to leave water spots if the water is hard.

I havent used upgp yet but does it sheet instead of bead?

No, i mean like >1cm white spots on my hood, trunk roof. I've never gotten this with UPGP or KSG. Possibly theres something in the rain recently though

1000p actually beads better than UPGP for me.

You are correct about beading products.

Interestingly, I had done a test of 4 products on my spoiler with one of them being 1000p. I had applied the last layer sunday morning. By monday afternoon, I saw over the area of 1000p like a layer of hazed wax. I know when I wiped off all the products on Sunday it all wiped away clean so this formed later. This haze wiped off very easily like a layer of powder. I wonder if 1000p takes a long time for it to completely get all it's chemicals out or something. I'm going to have to check again later to see if this haze has formed up again.

mhue,

after the initial bout of spots, do the spots still come back after the next rain? I'm wondering if it's the residue I had that formed later getting wet and collecting into beads. After that is washed off it should not come back I hope.

I encountered a similar issue the first time I used KSG. It was due to applying way too much product to the paint. I've been using 1000P for three years, in very thin coats, without anything like this happening.

I haven't seen the spots that the OP has, but I have seen the hazing after residue removal. I attributed it to removing the residue before it was ready.
