These towels intially got some good reviews.

Any follow-up feed back on them???

I'm thinking of buying a bunch for polish/wax removal.

My MF's from Pac Shak are linting like crazy for some reason so I'm just giving up on them for paint care...

You and me both. I know Scottwax had recommended something similiar but those were adifferent name and color.

Going off of Scott's review, I have been using the Coal Miner 16x16 for a few weeks now.  I purchased 5 to test.  Right now, I am using them to remove compounds and they are working very well.

Do note, I cannot speak to their performance holistically due to the short duration I have had them and they have been primarily used on medium-to-hard clears.

so nothing really soft.  I have not noted any marring or scratching or linting thus far.  They have been washed about 4 times now.

The only downside I can deliver at this point is they are not available in other colors (and I'm not a huge fan of a black towel to remove compounds with for obvious reasons.)

I'm sure they would make an excellent towel for polish or wax removal... but I like a little heavier, short nap towels for that/ those purposes.

Hope it helps,

I also like a little heavier short nap towel.

What can you recommend??

Thanks!

Dan

Dan,

To be upfront... I don't have a wide swath of experience with MFs.  So I would generally defer to other, more seasoned detailer's recommendations if they are added.

With that being said, I have and use the Rag Companies Split-Purple-naility towel (around 350gsm if I am correct) for polish/ wax removal.  My experience with these towels covers the past 12 months.  They are a split nap profile (shorter on one side, longer on the other) giving you options how to use the towel.  I know some like splits and others don't.  In the end, I am perfectly happy with these towels...very good, very versatile, durable, non linting, non marring towels.

Along with the Coal Miners I acquired a few weeks ago, I ordered some of their Eagle Edgeless towels (500gms? or close, I believe) that I been experimenting with for final polish removal.  I like these but had linting after the 1st and 2nd wash.  If the linting will subside... I will probably demote the Split Purples to wax/ sealant removal after boiling them to ensure all polish residuals are eliminated from the material.

Best regards,

-Gabe

My coal miner grey's are awesome, new flatter pile black towels are way different. Still use both for the medium hardness paints.

Any insight with these towels on soft black paints from anyone? I searched and saw people say they're good for medium clears but I'm looking for quality towels at a good price and its between these and the rag company's purple one's

Better with RC's purples or edgeless for soft black paint.

I just bought some purples from the Rag Co. Seems to be exactly what I was looking for. Longer nap on one side shoter on the other with a nice silk edge. I also bought two of the edgeless blue. Some of tthe softest MF's I have ever seen. I plan on using them for QD spray.

Very happy with the service and products from The Rag Co. Free shipping, fair prices and they also threw in a few freebies...or "Rag Swag" as they call it. Will definetly be buying from them again.

Awesome!  Glad you found some MFs that are working well for you!

The "miner" towels I have a 16 x 16 and grey in color. Work great for removing polishes/wax residue. Used them on everything from BMW jet black clear to rock hard Audi clears. No problems at all.
