QuikShine Gallon

I was a little disturbed by the package I received today, since my gallon of QuikShine was in fact only a few ounces. Now I know it says on the bottle that it's concentrated and to dilute it with tap water, but is it ONLY supposed to be up to the bottom edge molding line?

(that line about 1" from the bottom of the jug)



For those that have ordered this by the gallon before, do you use tap water or distilled water to dilute?

Yes, that is about where it will fill too. Personally I just use tap water to fill mine. Filtered water or distilled would probably be better but I just use regular tap water.

I can't remember how it went, but I got a gallon jug of distilled water and poured it in..IIRC I put in all but maybe an ounce or two but I can't for the life of me remember how high it filled it

My bottle has a mark on a sticker saying to fill to "THIS" level, just below the bottom edge of the top portion of the handle, about 1" down from the cap.

ehehe thanks. It's just a little disturbing not KNOWING that I'm getting a concentrate when I go to open the box and immediately start looking for everything else in the box to be covered in an ultra-slick shiny coating

Yeah, it is weird at first. But it saves on shipping which I like!

Sheesh, I *had* really forgotten how the filling went I went out to the shop and mine had the same thing, but done with a magic marker.

There is usually a marker line and a little sticker pointing to the line.

Yeah, fortunately I had heard beforehand that it came as a concentrate, so I didn't panic. I believe I used distilled water. I believe it was Anthony Orosco who made the comment about how high the water content is in most detailing products when he was describing mixing his own glass cleaner.

My grocery store didn't have distilled so i got charcoal filtered water.

My last quart (also my first quart) of QuikShine didn't have any scent but this has a light lemon scent. Hmm... Also got some PB Natural Look which has a nice cherry candy scent. I love good-smelling products



Now to get out there and continue wetsanding my beast. Got some 106 to finish with, too And Monster Fluffy towels. It was my first new season purchase, so I went a little overboard.
