Quick simple questions.

1. I do like Optimum Spray Car Wax a lot and will keep it as a staple in my arsenal, but what else competes with it so that I may try similar products out there.

2. Is opening the fuel lid to clean inside a safe and common practice during a wash?

3. Can you cut FK425 50:50 with distilled water? Love it, but sometimes it seems a little thick.

4. I've had great and somewhat equal results with Optimum Car Wash, Detailer's Pride Car Wash, and Ultima Car Wash. I've got Duragloss #901 and Einzett Perls on order. Anything else to add to the mix?

5. Sonus Green Ultra Fine clay has worked great, any other clays that rank up there?

thanks

Can only help with the first 2.

1. Duragloss Aquawax is a similar product, if you mean OCW? I think OCW lasts longer and beads nicely.

2. I do that now and then, never had any problems, as long as the cork is tightly screwed on.

having the gas lid open during the wash is fine, as long as the gas cap is on (i always turn it a click or two before washing and wipe down/blow out the area with the leaf blower when i'm done) tight. i wouldn't dilute the FK425 (you don't want to affect it's performance), as it's not recommended and RTU...

i put my fk425 in an empty megs quik detailer bottle and it works great for releasing a fine mist and not wasting too much product. BTW... i've asked this for many years, i don't know why no one makes a spray head similiar to the megs bottles...

Not a spray-LSP like the Optimum, but I use FK425 and Griot's SpeedShine. Wonder how well Griot's Spray Wax works

As noted, you want to keep the cap on ;) But yeah, I detail in there. I use a paintbrush-style BHB to wash such areas.

Probably, since AFAIK the stuff FK1 sells is made by adding water to a concentrate. It'd probably compromise the lubricity/durability a bit though.

I still prefer the oh-so-pricey Griot's Car Wash.

Not for super-gentle cleaning, at least not anything currently available in the US. But I bet the extra mild stuff Danase and others sell is basically the same stuff.

Actually, you can get about the same effect with the Griot's/Mother's clay, but it's easier to be really gentle with the Sonus green.
