Quick questions about ONR

You have many options, and everyone will tell you "theirs is the best".

For under about $20.00 you should be able to come to your senses about what works best for you.

Sheepskin

Chennille

Grout sponge, Ultimit

MF mitt

I personally use a sheepskin, always have, always will.

I just got done with my first ONR wash with Lowes GS. DAMN! This is amazing. It's easy on my hands and I can control the amount of water when I squeeze the GS.

I did my wheels first, then my fender wheels with a brush, and then my paint. I did this all inside my garage! I used a total of 4 gallons to clean my car. Now... I just need to work on my speed!

In total... it took me a little over 2 hours, including washing my MF towels.. since I clean by hand.

thanks for helping me. I've used the normal sheepskin and MF mitt before with a regular wash on my black car, it seems to swirl up a good amount. I found that a normal wash sponge at walmart works better than what i've used. i ordered an ultimitt. It's suppose to be good at normal washes, not sure with the ONR. I'm actually scared to look at my paint in the sun. It's rainy over there today so i won't know if it did damage to my paint.

It's so hard to find a good mitt for a black car. Seems like everything is so iffy. Hopefully the Ultimitt did the job.

lol cutting costs, yeah blue water definitely but surprisingly I mixed mine in a 32 oz. bottle for QD and it lost much of it's blue hue after a while

I'm glad I'm not the only one that's happened to! I walked out one day and was like, "Hey, my ONR is red!"

Man, that sure is the truth. Seems like finding a good wash mitt to keep my black paint is always a challenge. I just purchased some of the Grout Sponges from Lowes that so many people rave about and I'm going to try it out with ONR and conventional washes both. I'm feeling very optimistic, but prepared for another let down.

You won't be disappointed with the Lowes GS. Presoak your car first, then do the ONR. Make sure you rinse your sponge often and you will be fine.

Wait until the weather is better and your car isn't very dirty. I ONR washed a Jeep Wrangler yesterday (including tires/fenderwells and door jambs) in less than 20 minutes. :dance

My own car typically takes me 25-30 minutes, sometimes less if it is reasonably clean.

also, can someone help me with a good mitt using this on a black car? I used a LC ultimitt last night..not sure if it was a bad idea. Some said it was, i will find out in the sun tomorrow. If so, i will have to do a quick light swirl remover on the paint.

Thanks.

Try the Lowes GS by Proline.

I also use 4 caps to two gls. of water and stir it up, I use 2gl. at a time change the water often, on my smaller cars I use 6 to 8 gls. and on my larger cars i may use up to 10.

And always have a 2nd bucket with just water to rinse off my sponge.

And always clean small section at a time.

i'm going to go to lowes today and check that out. thanks. Do you know what department it's in?

They are with the cleaning supplies (mops, brooms, etc). The ones at the tiles section are not the ones we have been talking about. Below is a pic of the right one:

Being in Canada, we don't have Lowes, will any grout spounge do the job? Or should I look for a specific quality.

A lot of people here (including myself) also use the Home Depot GS (don't know if you have it in Canada), but they both work fine. I just prefer the Lowes GS because it is softer. If you are not sure about a particular GS do a CD test, but I am sure most GS would be just fine as long as they are not rough.

Finally! i found this one at lowes. I have been looking for the grout one at home depot but they aren't the right ones. I'm goign to try it out tomorrow. Thanks for being so helpful. :D

I wanted to be sure what the directions said, so I went and got mine. It says " Add 2 capfulls (1oz) to 2 gallons of water in a bucket. This is the exact printing off the label. Now maybe someone elses label says something different? asleepz says 4 capfulls because 1 cap is 1/2 oz. I don't know which is correct. Maybe I have the old mix. There is a new and improved formula. I use 1 oz to 2 gal. of water. I use a schmitt, micro fiber type. I may end up using more product. But I figured I'd do what the manufactor said the first time.

At least until I was more sure of myself and ONR. Since using it a few times, never doing it the same once. I've gotten better with it!

I have played it safe (I think) by using 1 oz per gallon and measured it using a 1oz measuring cup and not a cap.
