Quick question regarding PC ordered from Coastal Tools

Just ordered the PC 7424 kit from Coastal Tools today. As you know, it comes with the "bonus kit" which includes a 6" counterweight and 6" velcro backing plate.

Now, I've read somewhere on this forum that to change the backing plate you have to have a special tool - a Torx something or other.

My question is - does this kit from Coastal Tools come with this tool, or do they assume I already have one? (I don't.) Would appreciate any input from those of you who bought the Coastal Tools kit.

Many thanks!

I think you got it backwards, you need a Torx driver to change the counterweight which doesn't come with the kit, but a wrench comes with it to change the backplate.:up

D'oh! OK, thank you for straightening me out. So, if the standard 7424 comes with a 5" counterweight, and I want to change to the 6" that comes with the Coastal Tools kit, I need a Torx driver to do that.

I have it right now? :o

Try the Dollar Store - I picked up a 16-piece bit set today (just wanted the 2" extension) and it came with 2 torx bits - the #10 fits.

But guess what? The head is also slotted, so you can also use a plain, old screwdriver.
