Quick Impressions Test: MP vs. WPS vs. S100

I had to take my MDX to the shop today and I got a Metalic Red TL as a loaner. The car was fairly clean and thought I would do some quick testing of the products mentioned. I QD the hood and the trunk.

MP vs. WPS. The MP was a little harder to remove and I had to work a little harder to remove some cloudiness.

WPS vs. S100. S100 applied and removed easier (what can be easier than S100?) than the WPS. They both looked great. I ran my fingers over both to determine slickness. They were both slick but I noticed that I left some smear marks on the S100 and not on the WPS.

Wow, I guess I've been out of the loop a lot longer than I thought. What is MP and WPS? Sounds like some kind of last step product, since you're comparing them with S100?

Einszett makes both Metallic Polish (MP) and Wax Polish Soft (WPS) and yes they are both last step products.

edit: MP has very light cleaners and is mostly carnuba while WPS has no cleaners and lots of carnuba.

The WPS has cleaners (well, very mild abrasives) in it too. But both are so mild that the abrasiveness isn't an issue. Generally, the WPS is sorta a "better", milder version of MP with more protection and better filling/hiding characteristics. Either one can be used as a one-step or a LSP.

The "Pro" version of MP has far less wax in it and slightly stronger abrasives.

Thanks for keeping me honest and telling it like it is :bow

Metallic Polish is designed for use on all types of paint finishes including new cars and paintwork that is well treated with very minor surface issues. This includes swirl marks, spider webbing and slight imperfections. Cleaning action safely dissolves the toughest surface grime while conditioning oils produce unmatched depth and gloss that enhances the paintwork. Apply by hand or for best results, with your favorite dual action random orbital polisher.

Abrasive Level: Low

WaxPolish Soft is a very lightly abrasive polish with a high percentage of carnauba wax. Use Waxpolish Soft as a final step in bringing your paint to an excellent high-gloss finish. It is formulated for complete, rapid, smear-free waxing. It is very easy to apply and remove. It is ideal for new and well kept colored and metallic paintwork. The unique properties of Waxpolish soft hides and removes polish holograms and buffer marks. A special polymer ensures outstanding depth. .

Abrasive Level: Very Low

Malachi- Glad you didn't take my post as being all :nono or anything like that

As the post by dternst shows, 1Z's official product info is pretty accurate. Just a little of the marketing-hype but still quite informative. Better than many companies do, IMO.
