Quick FK425 question

Thinking of using it after washing for a little wax touch up. Make my car shine again without applying more wax. Can I use it like this or is it just a strict QD? Is there another FK product that will suit my needs better or use something different all together?

You can apply it while the car is still wet. The water just flows off of vertical/slanted surfaces before you get a chance to buff the product in. Looks great when done as expected.

After a little more reading and research I have decided that Poorboy's Spray and Gloss is probably better suited for what I am after. I'll probably end up getting both just for comparison.

Thanks

I use FK425 after I wash and dry the car everytime. Although now im starting to use DG Aquawax after everywash to give it more protection than FK425. F425 also works great on windows.

If you're going to be spraying on while the panels are still wet, something like EO Wax as U Dry, OCW or Duragloss Aquawax would work to add more protection. You can use pretty much any QD in this manner as well, and I recommend it as it really aids in all aspects of drying the car.

But don't forget that the AW is a spray wax and the 425 is "just" a QD...

Is this a joke or are you serious? On the fk1 site it says that 425 is "polymer esigns that have lasting protection that leaves the finish so slick it elliminates the need for washing".

No joking. A spray wax is a more substantial product and can contain more active ingredient (per VOC regulations) than a QD. A normal QD is limited to 3% active ingredients, and 425 is "just" a QD.

What's the other 97% of 425? I guess I've always thought if it left protection is was a sealant or nuba spray and if it didn't leave any protection it was a QD. I guess the lines will always remain blurry between QD's and spray's.

I understand that, that why i said that I use AW to add more "protection" then FK425. AW is just as easy to use as FK425 IMO.

Yep, the lines are not too defined, and sometimes it is truly hard to know which to choose.

The remaining 97% is water. Most QDs dissipate after a few hours or days - they are good for a quick touchup. But 425 protects a bit more - almost like a spray wax.
