Quick Details on an Audi S4 and Roush Mustang

Haven't had a lot of time to do any detailing lately, but as school started, I started taking care of these two for a couple classmates. Both beautiful vehicles in their own way.

First up, the Audi S4 :drool. This car was detailed with #80/NXT over 5 months ago. Decent slickness, good look, good beading, but also have to mention that it was car covered for a 3 month summer with no driving. It's also parked in a carport every night. Regardless, NXT has done well with weekly QD'ing. Today I decided not to QD so that you could get an idea of how NXT looked after 5 months. I will probably polish again soon and top with UPP for winter.

Now, the Roush is a GREAT looking car. The lines are soo much more aggressive than the stock GT Mustang. Unfortunately, the owner says he gets FAR too much attention in it. Everyone wants to race him and someone even vandalized it for no reason :(.

As shown in the pics, someone hit his car on purpose (witnesses attest), spit on his windshield, poured a sticky drink down the side, and put their cigarettes out on his plastic side mirrors :angry. Thankfully the only permanent damage done was with the hit and it turns out the witnesses caught the plate number. Anyways, I used some Goof-Off to remove the paint transfer as well as the black tire marks. It is FAR less noticeable now.

Also, that black stuff behind the wheels on the rockers that I WISHED were tire sling, was actually tar :(. I spend about 20 minutes de-tarring the lower panels. When all was said and done:

Sean,

Nice work as usual...really like the Audi...no really like the Mustang...okay I will take both. :)

Wheels really look sharp on both cars. :beer_smil

Shoooooo.....I wish I would've went to your school. I was working on like 87 Grand Am's and such at Millersville University :stuart: . A RAAM Air Firebird if I was lucky (and a couple Benzo's). AWESOME JOBS and CARS!

The Audi looks great. But, what a sad story with the Mustang, yet a wonderful turn around with that spectacular detail. Job well done...

Regards,
*LS1*

Nice cars, both look really good.
It's weird to me that one of them doesn't have color-coded side mirrors, though.

Sean Both cars look great! I really like the new Mustang, and I’m not a Ford man.

The owners are your classmates? Amazing! I could hardly scrape together beer money in college.

What QD products do you use most often and what do you look for?

Here’s what I look for:

1) Ease of Use

2) Doesn’t smear or leave any residue on the finish

3) Improves the look of the finish ‘gloss’

4) Has some protection for 1-2 weeks of durability. I’m not really concerned about the durability aspects

5) Price

6) Cleaning properties are low on the list for me, because I typically use QD after a wash, or after I seal/wax as a LSP.

Personally I like Spray and Gloss, #425 and Adam’s the best.

I have the same standards for QD's, John. #425 is very impressive thus far (used it on my car as well). I have also had success with Meguiar's Last Touch.

Thanks.
