Quick Detailers that are OK to use with Klasse SG?

Will a QD with silicones cause any problems with the existing layers of SG that are already on the car?

No.

Most people here will say "Yes, it may cause some problems", because the silicone oils (water or solvent based) will hinder the bonding between the substrate and new SG layer.

I do not mean to add to the confusion here, but *I* PERSONALLY have not found this to be a problem at all. In fact, I'm not a big believer in the very popular Autopian belief that non-cleaning polymers/sealants need a clean, oil & carnauba-free surface in order to bond properly and have full longevity. I've applied KSG and Zaino right on top of carnauba waxes, oily polishes like GEPC AND QD'S WITH SILICONE AND CARNAUBA without any problems in DURABILITY whatsoever. This is one person's experience however.

If I were you, just use whatever you like best and don't worry about bonding issues. Trust me, you won't notice a thing...... I myself was stifled on what to use back when I was a Autopian newbie due to bonding issue considerations. Two years worth of experimenting & heavy use of sealants like KSG & Zaino have lead me to believe that all this 'hindrance of sealant bonding' is blown way out of proportion.

Thanks for the perspective. That last part of your post completely nailed the problem I have been worried about.

I'm planning to order some Final Inspection down the road anyway, but I don't want to do it now becuase it seem ssillyt o spend $6.95 for shipping on a $5 product. I'm going to wait until I need other detailing products. So, in the meantime, I have to rely on detailers that can be bought locally.

I am in Los Angeles, but the local Pep Boys definitely does not sell FI (or at least doesn't at the present time). I was just by there a few days ago. They had Quick Detailer, Showtime, and the Eagle product, but no FI. They had a few other "professional" Meguair's products though, so I was a bit surprised they did not have FI.

Followup: Its actually a moot point now (although I've still learned a bunch from you guys - as usual). CMA has no shipping costs for the next few days, so I ordered a couple of bottles of FI.
