quick detail or wash??

I keep my car in the garage at night and park it in a covered garage during the day. Seems like the Zaino quick detailing spray will take care of it if done frequently. But I'm new to this. How do you know when it's time to actually wash the car?

When you think it's too dirty for a QD spray and MF to cope with the amount of dirt on your car and not inflict swirls. If there's any doubt in your mind I'd say it's safer to wash.

Personally I rarely use a QD to actually clean my car. If I've only driven a few miles and it's been dry then yes I will, but most of the time I'll wash (two bucket method) just to be safe. I don't find it takes a great deal longer either.

Me too.

I only QD after wash to add extra shine and protection.

Get some Poorboys S&W for those occasions when the car is not really dirty but can use a cleaning and QD. I really doubted this stuff for a long time until I finally used it, now I buy it in gallons.

When I had a light blue or medium blue I always quick detailed after a drive in the dry, since having a black car, and actually being able to see what I am removing, I dont bother anymore and wash!

After getting this brand new car Pearl White paint, I was tempted to QD the car, but thought against it. The thought of the possibility of tiny dirt particles marring the paint even with a microfiber got me to just wash it.

I too use QD just to spruce up the finish after washing on those frequent occasions when I'm not able to spend the time on a top-up coat of LSP.
