Quick bird poo clean on DD

I ran over a couple drops of water when I was putting on the Z5. Should I wipe it off and start over?? Or just wait longer before wiping away??

Seems like some moisture will stay underneath...

Umm, when I say 'ran' over, I mean that there were some drops of water on the finish and the pad(w/ the Z5 on it) ran across the water and sorta smeared the wax/water...
 
Just rub over the areas thoroughly. I usually put Z6 or water on the applicator with the Z5 to assist spreading the product which makes it easy to apply thin coats.



You just want to make sure you don't have water spots underneath the polish layer.
 
yeah - shouldn't hurt a thing. As long as you keep wiping/spreading until the water isn't there any more, and make sure you give it plenty of time to dry before buffing it out.
 
I already had a couple layers of Z2 and 5 on already, before this waxing. I was applying it when it was a little dark out and some of the drips from the window corners got me.



Basically, it'll just take longer to cure...right??

There is a percentage of water in all the waxes/sealants.



The water is part of the emulsion, whether paste or liquid.



It evaporates as the curing process takes place.



However, if there is a large amount of water on the surface, this is too much and may have an affect on the product as it will dilute it excessively and you will not experience a satisfactory finish.



The excess water reduces the crosslinking or curing and may leave the product a bit "weak".

It sounds like it was just a few spots of water drops. You should of seen the water immediately beading into tiny beads as the polish rejects it. This is fine. It should dry with no problems.
 
So I head off to work....walk to my car 6 months old and black, whick is my daily drive.....I find a big ol pile of bird poo right in the middle of the hood....The weather forecast for today is overcast with showers and storms later in the day....so a full wash is out....besides I do not have the time anyway.....I grap the hose and just blast the poo away....jump in the car and head to work.

Is this the best way to handle this? I know i'm not alone so what does everyon else do in a hurry??

It's best to get it off the paint as you did, my only concern would be water spots from not washing and drying off the area. But since its going to be cloudy and rain, you are fine.
 
I keep a Bird Bomb Kit in the trunk which includes 3"x3" gauze pads, a 3 oz spray bottle of distilled water, MF towels and a 3 oz spray bottle of QD. Wet the bomb, wet the gauze, let sit a minute, wipe off, dry and hit the spot with QD.

I just soak the bomb with QD and let it dewll for about a minute. Then I carefully lift it up with a MF (careful not to drag the poo along the surface). Always get it off ASAP.

:thumbup: Same procedure here. It may take a couple "soakings" depending on the volume of the deposit. (Lots of Eagles here in Missouri:rofl:)

Gary, I missed you at chat nite tuesday Da Rules!


I get a micro hand towel fold it 4 ways, lay onto bomb. Spray water liberially onto towel and let sit for a couple of minutes. Then wipe up and wash my hands :Snowman:

I would wash it any way. Better to get that stuff off your paint ASAP. You can always wash it again after the rain quits. Or you could just wash off the area with the bird bomb
