Questions on maintaining a lease.

I have been using gtechniq cermaic coating lately on our 2 cars. Love it!

BUT, my wife`s next car is probably going to be a lease that we will return in 3 years so I probably won`t do the ceramic coating.

What is a cheap and easy way to maintain paint with minimal effort knowing that I don`t really care about paint care on the long term? Just mainly for looks? I was thinking nanoskin cause that`s super easy. Or some kind of wash/wax product.

What do you guys think?
 
Will you be washing it yourself? If so, just use something like D156, Optiseal or Mckees Hydro Blue on a regular basis. I`ve been leasing cars and trucks for over 20 years and nobody at the lease company cares at return time about LSP, coating or beading and sheeting. Scratches and dents are important, shiny paint is not, so just keep it reasonably clean, inside and out.

Just coat it. Less maintenance with just a wash and dry. You can use a maintenance spray if you want to.

CanCoat will get you about 6-9 months. 1 year or more in ideal conditions.

My brother just got a lease for 2 years and I gave it a light polish and coated it with Cquartz. All he does is wash it.
 
I ceramic coat my lease because I value a clean car and my time. Once a lease and then extenders like permNon, can coat or premier type products. Owned cars every other year.
 
You can do whatever you choose. You still have to live with the car for 3 years unless it gets totaled so if you like waxing or coating or putting a certain sealant on each week go ahead and do it. It’s still your car to use for the next three years and may as well treat it

My friends who lease just run `em through the Tunnel of Marring and otherwise abuse the [crap] out of them, and when they turn them it there`s never a problem. I mean...vehicles I wouldn`t drive to the grocery are *not* dunned for damage. But since YMMV and it`s your money....I guess you might oughta do *something*, but nanoskin? Why bother decontaminating?

Since I won`t drive a genuine mess, I`d lease something white, AIO/FK1000P it every now and then ( maybe every 6 months at most), and tip the guys at the carwash a bit to use IUDJ/etc. as a Drying Aid. Or have it coated by a Pro and not even do the AIO/etc.
 
Thanks for the comments guys. I guess I`m looking for something that I can just spray on and wipe off. Nanoskin has the wash/wax product (shock I think) and it`s decent I guess. I usually do the full wash/decon/clay/polish/csl/exo deal on the cars we own knowing we`ll have them for 10+ years. I don`t want to do all that work. So that`s why I`m asking what good products are there that I can spray on every other wash (or less often) that is easy. Cancoat seems pretty easy.

I`m also thinking another option is to do the csl/exo coating at time of purchase and then hope it holds of for 3 years...

Oh, OK! Gee, silly me...I was thinking of their decon. towels :o If you like that, I`d sure be surprised if it didn`t do a good enough job for a lease...but it`s easy for me to talk when it`s your money, huh?

It’s a lite version of a coating. Not a full coating. CanCoat for me has just hit gone over the 1 year mark. Environment is a key factor.
 
The Guz- Ah, OK...sorry to force you to school me :o I guess whenever I think "coating" I`m expecting a near-miracle!

And yes indeed the environmental factors can make all the difference.

I`m tempted to say "whichever one you like best", but that doesn`t really answer it. Eh, I`m not up to speed on today`s offerings, but I like ZAIO if you want a little (VERY little) cut, or KAIO if you don`t need that. And Speed seems very popular with those who`ve tried it.

Actually I just realized, I`m looking for something easier than FK.

Heh heh, then I`m stumped! For some reason, I just hardly *EVER* find any LSP less-than-easy to use. Lucky me, but that doesn`t help you....sorry, I just never thought there was anything to using the FK, at least not if only doing it once/twice annually.

Maybe the Spray Wax/etc. approach *would* be worth considering. I never got around to doing the A8 with a real LSP, and after a few years of just OCWing it it`s still fine.

Hate to see you knock yourself out on a lease that goes back after a few years, but maybe it won`t be all that hard to keep something (in the right color) nice enough that it won`t bug you. I *am* confident that whatever qualifies as "good enough" for you will be more than OK for the lessor.

From my experience it is worth every penny. Get it on sale.

You can get a few cars out of it.

CanCoat will be the most durable of these three. You can use one of the others to maintain it.

Be sure to rinse out the sprayer with warm water if you go with CanCoat.
