Questions On Layering

OK, now that I have a layer of AIO + 2 UPP's on my car, I am looking to be able to S&W it and then add some of these "quickie" waxes for more protection.

But I'm reading here that some stuff -- specifically, NXT (which I did buy) -- removes earlier stuff. True? Or is that just the full NXT wax, not the quickie wax spray I bought for a weekend polish?

Considering how easy it was to take off with the MF towel, I wouldn't mind adding another layer of UPP every week or every few weeks, if that's best.

Right now, my cars have AIO+ UPP coats, later on they might be Poorboys. Any non-removing S&W formulas and/or quickie spray wax recommendations that go well with those combinations would be welcome.. Otherwise, I'll just add my 10th layer of UPP about mid-November !! lol

I use Poorboys S&W followed by Meguiars Final Detail on a regular basis with excellent results. I haven't used the NXT Spray, but there is one way to find out. Try it on a panel and see.

Nxt booster wax is Nxt watered down (my over simplification :) ) - so I think it's cleaning ability is still there - If you plan on adding more layers of UPP then skip waxing until your done addind layers of UPP -any silicone or carnuba will interfear with the bonding.

Gotcha....I have UPP as my "final layer" -- it's my "wax" end product even though it's not a true wax -- so if these other products are good (1) protection layers or (2) good-looking layers for gloss/shine/depth, I will use them.

rabbi, who makes UGE ???

And is PB's "quickie wax" the QD thing I keep seeing?

Maybe I can order some today and get it by this weekend....

4 Star makes UGE. Are you referring to Poorboy's Spray and Wipe? If so it is used as a cleaner if your car is dusty.

Yes, Rabbi I was..

I need 2 more items, and I want them to be "safe" (that is, not wipe off my earlier layers) for a quick S&W and a quickie spray wax or wax-thing. I do have the Eisenstaz 1Z which is like 20 minutes and of course, I can always do a UPP coat if I want to wait 15-45 minutes or so before wiping. I really wanted something I could spray right on and take right off.

And of course, not hurt my AIO+dual UPP layers. From what you and the others say, the PB S&W and the PB QD or the 4* UGE are all OK and will build on rather than remove my earlier layers.

Abbreviations may be causing some confusion for you. QD is the abbreviation for a general class of products called quick detailing sprays. S&W is the abbreviation for a specific Poorboy's product named Spray and Wipe. That product is a combination quick detail spray and waterless wash. It contains no wax or other gloss enhancers. QD+ is another Poorboy's product which is like a carnauba spray wax.

UGE is the companion quick detail spray for UPP. If you want to add more layers of UPP without having to polish again, be careful about your choice of QD sprays. Sprays containing wax or silicones may create bonding problems if used between UPP layers.

I have not used any of the NXT products, so I can't comment on them.

What 1Z product are you referring to?

awd, I have the Eisenstazt 1Z (sp. ?) wax that's in an oval-like tin tube or something. Sorry, it's at home and I'm now at work.

Yeah, I think I may have gotten confused between products, contents of the products, and acronyms.

Bottom Line, for a quickie spray&wipe cleaner, I wanted it in a spritz bottle and to not take off my sealant (AIO) or finish (UPP). And I wanted another "finish" that could be applied quicker than the wait-a-while UPP product.

I think you guys answered my questions. I think I'll go with the PB S&W and get some UGE. That way, I can spritz away any dust or dirt and put on some UGE. If I have more time and I'm at home, I can do another layer of UPP before or instead of using UGE.

Thanks, fellas...

Sound like a plan to me. Of course it should since it is the same procdure I follow with my AIO/UPP vehicle.
A couple of times a year I do the swirl removal thing, then follow it with AIO and UPP. When the vehicle gets dirty, I either use S&W or bucket wash, then follow up with the 4 Star Ultimate Gloss Enhancer. I then add another coat of UPP about every 30 days or so. It is also very possible that I might decide I need to do the AIO/UPP process every 3 to 4 months. Can't ever seem to leave things alone for long.

Thanks, Charles....yeah, I don't mind wiping off the UPP with the MF towel...it justs that you are supposed to wait 15-60 minutes or so for it to append. I didn't know about this UGE thing or I would have ordered it during my buying spree of a few weeks ago. Ditto the PB S&W or other similar products.

It was alot of work to do the wash-clay-AIO-UPP-UPP rounds this weekend, so if these "quickie steps" will help preserve it, so much the better. I figure I'll do another complete detailing for the car in about 3-4 months, right before the NY winter season.

It was nice yesterday, I took the car into NYC and went through some dusty sidestreets and the dust/dirt slid right off the car. When I got back it looked just like it did after the detailing Saturday.
