i have a DA (megs da) and megs yellow polishing and tan fine buff pads - I am getting the 22ple VX1 Pro so I want to make sure the paint is free of product.

I have

Megs ultimate compound
Klase AIO
PB's SSR 2.5
3M rubbing compound (liquid grey bottle)

I don't have any swirls or marks to get rid of the car is new and I clayed and polished and put on product..so I won't need to do any correcting..

so - what is ideal to use .. I was thinking PB and SSR 2.5 with a yellow pad single pass light pressure followed with IPA wipe down...

any thoughts? I don't want to introduce marring or swirls...just make sure the paint is squeeky clean.

I would do a couple IPA wipedowns just to ensure the paint is bare. But other than that just make sure the paint is the condition you want it to be before applying. Other than that post before and afters!

My concern if your coating is that 2.5 may be a bit too aggressive. Its a great polish, but I don't know that I would want to finish with it, especially if I was coating afterward. IPA wipedowns are needed not only for the coating to bond, but to make sure your products aren't filling but actually correcting. If your paint already looks good, maybe consider a light jewling polish just to amp up the gloss and correct any light marring you have with a light pad such as grey, blue, or even red LC. You should be good to go after that.

Yeah I am of the never wash with Dawn school..

especially when the maker of Dawn says "don't use it to wash your car..."

lol

Just figured I'd throw the idea out there. I wouldn't do it either. I know people use cg citrus wash n gloss @ 1oz/gal to strip. I have a gallon of the stuff but haven't had the need to try to strip anything yet. Not sure how well it works.

If it is in great shape, there is no need to polish. I would wipe it down with Gtech Panel Wipe or CarPro Eraser and go to your coating.
