QUestion on Klasse Sealant

Jeff's Werkstatt Acrylic Jett.

Thanks. What is it about Werkstatt that the vetrans like yourself prefer it over Klasse AIO and SG? Durability? Appearance? Ease of use? Could someone go into the details on this?

I often wonder why people, especially noobs, continue to purchase the AIO/KSG combo. IMO, there are so many products on the market with easier application, equal durability and superior appearance.

JJ

Which are some of those products? Would you mind adding your personal favorites and what it is you like about them?

Several of you guys have mentioned the are better products than Klasse's two waxes.

What is your opinion of Sonus Gloss Shampoo, Clay Bar, Paintwork Cleanser or the SFX Polishes?

If you do not care for them, could you add which shampoos, clay bars, cleaners, or polishes you like?

Sorry for all the questions. I have been using Meguiars for a few years simply due to it being sold at a local Mirror Glaze dealer who I could go to and get advice from after the detailer took a look at my car's paint. Now that I have got down the basics, I want to try some other products. I was planning on giving Sonus/Klasse a try but I am having second thoughts after reading several threads on here.

Thanks for any advice you guys have.

Probably too much to ask for and too far from the original topic.

The Sonus gray clay can mar paint, be very careful with it; their green is great but very, very mild. Haven't used the other Sonus products you asked about.

IMO the different approaches (Meguiar's is very different from Sonus/Klasse and others are different from both of those) all have their pros/cons and you can't really say one is better/worse in a general sense.

I would only use a sealant (Klasse, etc.) on a vehicle I can get *and keep* basically flawless. Any little imperfection will be obvious, much more so that with products from Meguiar's. Horses for courses; gotta match the product to the job. And besides that, some people just prefer how certain stuff works; I don't really like Meguiar's polishes but others swear by them, some people find the Klasse twins tricky to use but I think they're a piece of cake...everybody's different and you just gotta try stuff to see how you like it.

FWIW, if *I* were gonna suggest something to try instead of Meg's, I'd steer you towards 1z brand polishes topped with some carnauba (maybe even a Meguiar's carnauba).

You hit the nail on the head.

I have limited experience in this area, but have been doing alot of reading and research which has led me to the conclusion that it seems to be personal preference. Each pro seems to have a diffrent answer.

The klasse products are popular with noobs because we all start out in awe of the info on the detailing guides on the autopia sales site. Why wouldn't we want the "perfect shine"?

We just have to do what everybody before us did I guess, learn by trial and error.

But a little more specifics on options and advantages to other products is always appreciated.

I'm FAR from a veteran. I'm maybe n00b class 3 or something =P

I like JW AJ because

-it's a sealant

-it's easy to use

-most importantly it gives the best flake pop of the different sealants I've tried

It used to be the wettest looking sealant, but OS might have taken that away.

You were so right about Klasse SG. What a pain to work with!

Yea, KSG can be difficult. Remeber to apply it so thin you can barely see it. Some people leave it before removing. I usually just WIWO.
