One of the dealerships I do work for took an old 1988 Winnebago on trade. They called me up to see if I could clean her up a little bit for the auction. I did a regular wash and did a citrus degres on it. Question in what should I charge them for it? I never did one. Thanks for the help. It's a 20 fter

How long did it take you? What do you normally charge for a car? You can find out an hourly rate, or just use the rate at which you currently charge if you already do it that way. Then of course multiply the rate by time :)

Did you do anything to the inside or just an exterior wash?

I had a contract with a local limousine company who had a couple 15-person vans in their fleet. I did just about what it looks like you did (with a long-handled brush). I charged them $45 each time they brought them in because they had them washed down every couple weeks and it took me just under an hour. The wash also included a cleaning of the driver's area and the inside glass, so it was a little more than just the exterior. I've found that something like that just takes a little figuring out and give them a custom price.

Before I opened a detail shop, I worked for a car testing company that traveled to different race tracks around the country. There were many times we would have our semi and motor coach cleaned up in the manner you are talking about, a good wash, dry, wheels cleaned, tires dressed and windows done. The average rate for rigs like these is $4/ft and that is pretty much nation wide, it varies a little but not by much.

After I opened my shop I've done a couple wash/waxes on motorhomes and charged $8/ft and the customers were happy.
