I on the other hand found it too mild for many uses. It does't mar the paint I've used it on (including some very soft old-school lacquer). Just used on to apply AIO after carefully polishing the panel with the Cyclo. The AIO/Griot's orange did not induce any marring.
I used it on a C5 'vette with no problems at all, but that was a few years ago.
Perhaps the pads have changed, I'm using ones I bought a while ago. But I've used a lot of Griot's pads over the years on all kinds of paint in all colors, with my only complaint being it doesn't cut aggressively enough.
If it left marring on *my* vehicle I'd a) be very surprised and b) call Griot's and ask them about it.
The Griot's Machine Polish #3/orange pad combo has been used on a *lot* of cars...marring from that pad is unusual; it's often used for final polishing.
They do wear like iron, I can't remember the last time I wore one out. The velcro never fails either.
Now you have two totally contradictory opinions to consider
