Question for those who own 3.0 hp Craftsman portable wet/dry vac

Question for Scottwax and other who own this unit.



I just bought the Craftsman unit and the owner's manual states that the unit is shipped unassembled. The directions says to locate the float (ball) and remove the filter cage and place float in the center ring of the lid.



On my unit the float was already in the filter cage. I'm guessing it's already install.



Anyone have any experience with this?

It was already installed on mine too.



Very good vacuum and powerful for it's size. The blower option is great for blowing water out of molding and seams.

Does this unit have a built in shutoff if it runs too long?



It quit on me today, but I'm not sure if it was the unit or a circuit breaker.
 
not to hijack, but anyone interested in this unit can get a 5hp one from home depot(rigid) with a similar shape and size for the same price I think $70. It might be me but it seemed like it was more powerful than my 5 hp craftsman I got rid of.

I checked out the Rigid. It looks like a very good unit for mobile detailing, but even though it's small, it's not as "narrow" as the Craftsman. The Craftsman fits right behind the seat of my pickup truck.



I may invest in a bigger unit in the near future, but I think the Craftsman will handle 95% of the jobs I come across.
