Question For The Pros

I'm graduating from H.S. pretty soon and will be entering college. As most people I know in college have a lot of free time, I have been considering doing some detailing on the side for $$$. My question is actually about water usage. Do you all have trailers with water tanks that you tow around? I'm assuming it's not very professional to use the client's water.

Free time eh? I wish. Iguees it depends what program you are in, and what year. I know as a second year accounting student (ok ok i have heard all the jokes) I have little free time. Theres alot of work to be done. I still find time on weekened to make a ltitle extra cash detailing.

Back to the question.. I do not use a trailer becasuse I do have a partner who owns a coin wash so I have a place to do it. However it is not very profisonal to use others water, having said that being a young college student most people wouldnt mind. So if its th only option then hay go for it. (you could always use ONR ot QEW, mix it up before hand). Also another option is do it in you driveway if you have it. People dorp it off at your house and then pick it up when its done.. Good luck with business and school

Basically, you have the exact situation I am expecting. I am planning on attending ASU for accounting. I know not to expect working four days a week, but I would like to make some $$$ on the side doing something which I enjoy and feel I am good at.

I use Optimum No Rinse Wash and bring about 5 gallons of water with me, which is enough to wash 5 cars if necessary.

About what the customers think of you using their water....9 times out of 10, when I arrive at a new customer's home, they will offer me the use of their hose (which I don't need) and usually ask if I need anything to drink. :)

Yeah thats how it always seems to for me too....

I have no problem useing peoples water frankly theres no way for it to be done otherwise. Why would a customer care if you used .25 of there water? A no rinse wash is not an option here so it must be different down there.
